이재명 대통령이 현재진행형인 대미 관세 협상과 관련 "(3500억불 대미 투자) 방식·규모·일정·손실 분담·이익 배분 방식 등 모든 게 여전히 걸림돌로 남아 있다"고 전했다.
이 대통령은 27일 공개된 미국 블룸버그와의 인터뷰에서 "미국은 물론 자국 이익을 극대화하려 할 것이나 한국에 재앙적 결과를 초래할 정도여선 안 된다"며 이같이 말했다
그러면서 "(미국과의) 논의는 진행 중이고 의견 차이는 있으나 지연이 반드시 실패를 의미하는 건 아니다"며 "양해해 주시기 바란다"고 밝혔다.
이어 "한국은 미국 동맹·친구이므로 모든 당사자가 수용할 수 있는 합리적 결과를 도출할 수 있을 거라 믿으며 반드시 이루어져야 할 일"이라고 했다.
하지만 도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령은 한국과 이미 선행된 3500억불(약 497조 7000억) 선불 합의의 조속한 이행을 거듭 촉구 중인 가운데 기존 관세가 계속 유지되면서 대미 수출 전선에 적신호가 켜진 상태다.
