【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=선린대학교(총장 곽진환) 국제교류교육센터는 지난 10월 24일 오전 9시 교내 운동장에서 ‘제2회 선린 국제유학생 체육대회’를 성황리에 개최했다고 밝혔다.

곽진환 총장의 개회 선언으로 막을 올린 이날 체육대회에는 베트남, 몽골, 우즈베키스탄, 키르기스스탄 등 4개국 100여 명의 유학생이 참가해 열띤 분위기 속에서 친목과 화합의 시간을 가졌다.
참가자들은 ▲3인 4각 달리기 ▲축구 ▲줄다리기 ▲계주 등 다양한 종목에 참여하며 학업과 생활 속 스트레스를 해소하고, 서로 협력하며 공동체 의식을 함양하는 뜻깊은 자리를 만들었다.
곽진환 총장은 개회사를 통해 “이역만리 타국에서 학업에 매진하는 여러분을 진심으로 응원한다”며 “오늘 하루만큼은 학업의 부담을 내려놓고 마음껏 웃으며 우정을 쌓는 시간이 되길 바란다”고 격려했다.
박정훈 국제교류교육센터장은 “궂은 날씨에도 적극적으로 참여해준 모든 유학생들에게 감사드린다”며 “부상자 없이 즐겁게 마무리되는 안전한 행사가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
경기는 백팀, 홍팀, 청팀의 3개 팀으로 나뉘어 진행됐으며, 백팀이 종합 우승을 차지해 상금 30만 원을 받았다. 또한 행사 중 진행된 경품 추첨을 통해 다양한 상품이 참가자들에게 전달돼 즐거움을 더했다.
한국어 교육과정 초급 2반의 케리모바 아이아나(키르기스스탄) 학생은 “3인 4각 달리기와 축구 경기가 특히 재미있었다”며 “서로 응원하며 웃을 수 있었던 즐겁고 유익한 하루였다”고 소감을 전했다.
한편, 선린대학교 국제교류교육센터는 매년 우수한 유학생 유치를 위해 4계절 4학기 한국어 교육과정을 운영하고 있다. 또한 문화체험·진로탐색·심층상담 프로그램 등 다양한 지원 활동을 통해 유학생들의 학업 적응과 취업, 안정적인 정착을 돕고 있다.

Kerimova Ayana (Kyrgyzstan), a student in the Beginner 2 Korean Language Program, said, "The three-legged race and soccer game were particularly enjoyable. It was a fun and informative day, filled with laughter and support."
Meanwhile, Sunlin University's International Exchange Education Center operates a four-semester, four-season Korean language course each year to attract outstanding international students. Furthermore, it offers a variety of support programs, including cultural experiences, career exploration, and in-depth counseling, to help international students adapt academically, find employment, and achieve stable settlement.
