중견언론인들의 모임인 한국전문언론인협회(회장/김동성)는 10월 28일자 보도자료에서 김경구 (株)지디바이오텍 회장을 ‘글로벌리더’로 선정했다고 알렸다.
보도자료에 따르면 “김경구 회장은 난황레시틴에 대한 특허기술을 통해 중국을 비롯한 동남아 국가는 물론 유럽에서까지 능력을 인정받으면서 국가경쟁력 강화에 기여했다”고 밝혔다.
지난 2004년 9월에 초임계 추출을 이용하여 난황으로부터 기능성 물질을 추출하는 방법을 개발해 특허를 받은 것을 비롯하여, 2005년 2월에 난황레시틴의 추출방법과 난황레시틴의 제조방법을 개발해 특허를 받았다. 김경구 회장은 난황레시틴 제품을 국내 판매는 물론 각국에 수출을 하면서 외화벌이에도 한몫을 하고 있다.

김경구 회장은 ‘남양주의 에디슨’이란 별명으로 불릴 정도로 각종 발명품을 보유하고 있다. 2015년에는 수년간의 연구개발 작업 끝에 수소정수기를 비롯하여 휴대용 수소광천 미네랄 발생기, 수소스파기기등 총 8가지 음용, 미용 제품들을 개발하여 상품화에 성공했다. 이 제품들의 우수한 기능과 품질이 중국에서 홍보되자 중국정부의 유력한 고위급 사업협력 사절단으로 빠셍진 중국모델협회부회장과 윤지 ‘북경지합천지상모유한공사’ 회장이 회사를 방문하기도 했다.
10월26일 2시, 강원도 철원에 위치한 CB의과학연구소 강당에서는 김경구 ㈜지디바이오텍 회장과 중국산시성 국제문화교류 기금회의 강명오 주석이 ㈜지디바이오텍의 난황레시틴 기술 이전 협약식을 가졌다. 레시틴이 함유된 난유는 건강기능성식품, 화장품원료, 의약품제조원료, 유아분유등에 사용이 되고 있는데, 우리나라의 특허기술이 중국으로 수출된 것.
