【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=더불어민주당 박홍배 의원이 포항 에너지머터리얼즈의 부당노동행위와 잇단 산업재해 문제를 지적하며 지난 윤석열 정부의 노동정책 기조를 강하게 비판했다.
박 의원은 지난 27일 열린 국회 기후에너지환경노동위원회 국정감사에서 “전 윤석열 정권이 노동조합을 협상의 대상이 아닌 통제의 대상으로 삼으며 노사자율을 핑계로 사측의 직장폐쇄를 방관했다”고 지적했다.
박 의원은 포항 에너지머터리얼즈를 대표적 사례로 꼽았다. 그는 “해당 회사는 교섭 불참과 대표이사 면담 거부, 노동자 출입 통제에 이어 지난 3월 일방적인 직장폐쇄를 강행했다”며 “윤 정부가 ‘노사자율’을 이유로 아무런 개입도 하지 않은 결과, 현장은 갈등과 불신으로 내몰렸다”고 말했다.
그는 또 불과 1년 사이 세 차례나 발생한 중대산업사고를 지적했다. 2024년 10월 황산 화상사고, 2025년 2월 가성소다·황산 연속사고, 9월 황산 원액 탱크 누출사고 등으로 노동자들이 다쳤지만, 회사는 노동조합 설립 이전까지 산업안전보건위원회조차 구성하지 않았다는 것이다.
박 의원은 “노조가 생긴 뒤에도 산업안전보건위원회에 노동조합 참여를 배제하는 등 사실상 안전관리를 방관해왔다”며 “이는 현장의 안전관리체계가 완전히 무너졌다는 것을 보여준다”고 강조했다.
특히 그는 지난 2월 사고 당시 구미 중대재해예방센터 인력이 현장에 도착하기까지 1시간 30분이 걸린 점을 언급하며, “설비마다 관리주체가 달라 사고 대응체계가 혼선에 빠졌다”며 “누가 먼저 현장에 출동할지 명확히 정리해야 한다”고 개선을 주문했다.
이에 대해 더불어민주당 경북도당과 포항남구울릉군지역위원회, 경북도당노동위원회는 “박홍배 의원이 국정감사를 통해 현장의 부당노동행위와 산업안전 실태를 낱낱이 드러낸 데 깊이 감사한다”며 “모든 일터에서 노동자의 권리가 존중되고 안전이 지켜지는 사회를 만들기 위해 끝까지 함께하겠다”고 밝혔다.
이들은 “노동존중과 산업안전의 원칙이 현장에서 바로 설 수 있도록 제도개선과 감시, 연대를 강화하겠다”며 “노동이 존중받는 나라, 안전한 대한민국을 위해 민주당이 앞장서겠다”고 덧붙였다.

However, the company failed to even establish an Occupational Safety and Health Committee before the union was established.
Representative Park emphasized, "Even after the union was formed, the company effectively neglected safety management by excluding the union from the Occupational Safety and Health Committee." He added, "This demonstrates a complete breakdown of the on-site safety management system."
He specifically mentioned that it took 1 hour and 30 minutes for personnel from the Gumi Major Disaster Prevention Center to arrive at the site during the February accident. He added, "Different management entities for each facility created confusion in the accident response system. We need to clearly define who will be dispatched first."
