공개된 자료에 따르면, 홍준표 전 시장의 ‘알박기 채용’ 논란 당사자인 김모 뉴미디어팀장은 면접위원 5명 모두에게 90점이 넘는 점수를 받았다. 이로써 총점 467점, 평균 93.4점으로 1순위 임용예정자가 됐다.
반면 2순위 지원자의 총점은 424점, 평균 84.8점에 그쳤다. 1, 2순위자의 점수 차이는 총점 기준 43점, 평균 기준 8.6점이나 됐다. 2순위 이후 지원자들의 점수 차이가 최소 6점에서 최대 11점 수준인 점을 감안하면, 김 팀장이 받은 점수는 이례적으로 높았다.
특히 5번 면접위원의 채점에 의문이 쏠렸다. 1순위 김 팀장에게는 97점, 2순위자에게는 71점을 부여해 26점이나 차이를 둔 것. 이 점수 차이는 5명의 면접위원 총점 차이 43점 중 60.5%에 해당한다. 게다가 이 위원이 김 팀장 외 다른 응시자에게 준 최고 점수는 74점에 불과했다. 상식적으론 납득하기 힘든 점수라는 지적이 나온다.

같은 날 열린 국회 행정안전위원회 대구경찰청 국정감사에서는 알박기 채용비리에 대한 경찰의 부실·늦장수사도 도마에 올랐다.
윤건영 더불어민주당 의원에 따르면 대구경찰청은 대구시에 수사개시 통보조차 하지 않았다. 이 탓에 대구시는 알박기 채용비리 관련자들에게 아무런 조치도 취하지 않았다.
현행 지방공무원법과 경찰청 범죄수사규칙에 따르면, 경찰은 지방공무원에 대한 조사나 수사를 시작하거나 마쳤을 때 10일 이내로 소속 기관장에 통보해야 한다.
대구경찰청 반부패수사대장은 "수사개시 통보를 입건 날짜 기준 10일 안에 해야 하지만 빠뜨렸다"며 "실수가 있었다"고 해명했다.
하지만 홍준표 전 시장이 직접 입을 연 전국적 이슈라는 점에서 이런 해명이 쉽게 수긍되지 않는다는 지적이 나온다.
대구경실련 측은 "해당 뉴미디어팀장 지원자에 대한 면접위원들의 채점결과, 특히 5번 위원의 점수는 면접위원 명단과 채점 결과가 일반적으로 공개되지 않는다는 점을 악용해 채용비리에 가담했다는 의혹을 피하기 어렵다"고 비판했다.
또한 "이런 채용 관행이 반복되면 알박기 채용비리 같은 일이 언제든 재발할 수 있다"면서 "뉴미디어팀장 임용예정자를 선정한 면접위원들의 성명과 직업을 즉시 공개해야 한다"고 요구했다.
아울러 "알박기 채용비리에 대한 대구경찰청의 늦장·부실수사를 강하게 규탄하며, 책임자 문책도 요구한다"고 강조했다.
