브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 넥슨게임즈는 3일 넥슨재단과 ‘영케어러(Young Carer)’를 지원하는 사회공헌 사업 ‘위드영(With Young) 프로젝트’를 진행, 초록우산에 1억 원을 기부했다고 밝혔다.
영케어러(가족돌봄아동)는 장애, 질병, 노화 등으로 돌봄이 필요한 가족을 보살피거나 생계 책임을 지는 아동, 청소년 및 청년을 뜻한다. 이들은 학업, 진로 준비, 또래 관계 형성 등에 어려움을 겪는 취약계층이지만, 사회적 인식 부족 및 복지 사각지대의 영향으로 적절한 지원을 받지 못하는 경우가 많다.
넥슨게임즈와 넥슨재단은 영케어러가 돌봄 부담을 덜고 건강한 성인으로 성장할 수 있도록 ‘위드영 프로젝트’를 전개한다. 첫해에는 초록우산을 통해 총 15명의 영케어러를 선정하여 돌봄부담 경감 패키지를 지원해 나갈 예정이다.
돌봄부담 경감 패키지는 돌봄 코디네이터가 각 아동의 상황에 맞는 케어 플랜을 수립해 지원하는 맞춤형 패키지로 △돌봄, 교육, 건강, 주거 문제 해결을 위한 생활비 지원 △식료품, 생필품 등 필요 물품 정기 배송 △복지 및 의료 정보, 관련 제도 및 지역자원 정보 제공 △긴급돌봄서비스 연계 등으로 구성된다.
넥슨게임즈는 중장기적인 영케어러 지원과 사회적 인식 제고를 이어 나가기 위해, 향후 영케어러가 돌봄에서 잠시 벗어나 다양한 경험을 할 수 있는 문화 체험 기회를 제공하고, 임직원이 참여하는 봉사 프로그램도 마련하는 등 폭넓은 활동을 펼쳐 나갈 예정이다.
넥슨게임즈 강인수 경영총괄본부장은 “위드영 프로젝트를 통해 영케어러분들이 조금이라도 돌봄 부담을 덜고 미래를 준비하는 데 도움이 되기를 바란다”며 “넥슨게임즈는 영케어러들이 안정적으로 성장할 수 있도록 지속적인 지원을 이어 나가겠다”라고 말했다.

The Care Burden Reduction Package, a customized care plan developed by a care coordinator tailored to each child's individual circumstances, includes: living expenses support to address caregiving, education, health, and housing issues; regular deliveries of groceries, daily necessities, and other essentials; provision of welfare and medical information, related systems, and local resources; and connection to emergency care services.
Nexon Games plans to continue its mid- to long-term support for young caregivers and raise social awareness. It will also provide cultural experiences that allow young caregivers to take a break from their caregiving duties and engage in diverse experiences. It will also offer employee volunteer programs.
