(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 남동구가 4일, 환경오염물질 배출사업장의 준법의식 강화 등을 위해 최근 간석동, 구월동, 고잔동 일대에서 무허가 환경오염물질 배출사업장에 대해 기획단속을 했다고 밝혔다.
남동구에 따르면, 이번 단속은 인허가를 받지 않고 대기 배출시설을 운영하는 무허가, 미신고 사업장을 중심으로 환경 관련 법령 준수 여부 등을 점검하기 위해 추진됐다.
남동구는 단속에 앞서 무허가, 미신고 불법행위 의심 업체를 사전 선별, 총 8개 사업장을 대상으로 집중 단속을 진행했다.
점검 결과, 미신고 대기 배출시설 설치·운영한 업체 1곳이 적발됐으며, 이에 남동구는 해당 사업장에 대해 관련법에 따라 행정처분 및 고발 조치할 예정이다.
미신고 시설을 설치·운영한 업체는 대기환경보전법 또는 물환경보전법에 따라 5년 이하의 징역이나 5천만 원 이하의 벌금형에 처해질 수 있으며, 사용 중지 또는 폐쇄 명령을 받을 수 있다.
