브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 젠슨 황 엔비디아 CEO와 이재용 삼성전자 회장, 정의선 현대자동차그룹 회장이 함께한 이른바 ‘치맥 회동’으로 화제를 모은 깐부치킨이 신규 가맹 사업을 중단한 것으로 전해졌다.
5일 관련 업계에 따르면 깐부치킨은 지난 4일부터 신규 가맹 상담을 중단하기로 결정했다.
가맹 본사는 공식 입장을 통해 “최근 큰 관심과 문의 폭주로 인해 당분간 신규 가맹 상담을 잠시 중단한다”며 “많은 분들이 ‘물 들어올 때 노 저어야 한다’고 하지만, 우리가 생각하는 노젓기는 무리한 확장이 아닌 본질에 충실하는 것”이라고 밝혔다.
깐부치킨은 지난달 30일 서울 삼성점에서 황 CEO와 이재용·정의선 회장이 1시간 10분가량 ‘치맥 회동’을 가진 장소로 알려지며 전국적인 관심이 쏠렸다.
글로벌 기업 회사 수장들이 소박하게 모여 앉아 치킨과 맥주를 즐기는 장면이 공개되면서 깐부치킨도 함께 주목을 받았다.
특히 세 수장이 앉았던 자리에 앉아 보고 싶어하는 손님들이 몰리면서 깐부치킨 삼성점은 ‘성지’로 떠올랐다. 매장 측은 한때 해당 테이블 이용 시간을 1시간으로 제한하는 조치까지 취할 정도였다.

깐부치킨 측은 “지금은 속도를 높일 때가 아니라 품질·위생·서비스, 그리고 가맹점과 고객에 대한 책임을 단단히 다질 때”라며 “조급함 대신 준비된 모습으로, 흔들림 없는 기반 위에서 다시 한 걸음 나아가겠다”고 밝혔다.
