당진시, 삽교호~음섬포구 잇는 5.8km 해안둘레길 완공

충남 당진시에 서해의 자연경관과 감성을 한눈에 담을 수 있는 새로운 해안길이 조성됐다.

당진시는 삽교호관광지에서 음섬포구를 잇는 총 5.8km 구간의 해안둘레길 조성공사를 완료했다고 5일 밝혔다. 

이번 사업은 기존 4.5km 산책로에 1.3km의 데크 산책로를 추가 연결한 것으로, 왕복 약 2시간 코스로 당진의 대표 관광지 서해대교와 삽교호, 놀이동산 대관람차까지 어우러진 서해안의 풍광을 감상할 수 있다.

이 사업은 지난해 8월 ‘2024년 관광자원개발사업’ 공모에 선정돼 도비 9억 5천만 원을 포함한 총사업비 19억 원이 투입됐다. 시는 올해 3월 착공 이후 친환경 자재를 활용한 보행환경 개선과 조경 정비를 병행해 시민과 관광객이 함께 이용할 수 있는 명품 둘레길로 조성했다.

박미혜 당진시 관광과장은 “해안둘레길은 단순한 산책 공간을 넘어 지역의 풍부한 자연·문화 자원을 잇는 관광 거점 역할을 하게 될 것”이라며 “앞으로도 주민과 방문객 모두가 즐길 수 있는 지속가능한 해안 관광 인프라를 만들어 가겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 당진시는 ‘2025-2026 당진 방문의 해’를 선언하고 연간 1,000만 명 관광객 유치를 목표로 주요 관광자원과 연계한 체험형 관광상품 개발에 박차를 가할 계획이다.

Dangjin City announced on the 5th that it has completed construction of a 5.8km coastal trail connecting Sapgyo Lake Tourist Area and Eumseom Port.

This project adds a 1.3km deck trail to the existing 4.5km promenade. This approximately two-hour round-trip course offers breathtaking views of the West Sea, including Dangjin's signature tourist attractions, Seohae Bridge, Sapgyo Lake, and the Ferris wheel at the amusement park.

This project was selected for the "2024 Tourism Resource Development Project" in August of last year and has a total project cost of 1.9 billion won, including 950 million won in provincial funds.
