이번 사업 선정으로 경주시는 대본항과 연동항 일대를 중심으로 어항시설 정비와 관광 인프라 확충을 병행해 침체된 어촌을 경제와 문화가 공존하는 활력 공간으로 탈바꿈시킬 계획이다. 이를 통해 블루오션 시대에 부합하는 해양도시로서의 경쟁력 강화에도 속도를 낸다.
‘어촌신활력증진사업(어촌회복형)’은 기존 어촌뉴딜300과 신활력사업의 성과를 바탕으로 우수 어촌을 한 단계 발전시키고, 낙후된 어촌의 생활·안전 인프라를 보강해 주민과 관광객이 함께하는 지속 가능한 어촌을 조성하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다.
이번에 선정된 대본항은 태풍과 고파랑으로 반복되는 피해를 근본적으로 해소하고 재해 안전성과 어업활동 안정성 확보에 중점을 두며, 연동항은 어촌뉴딜300사업 이후 늘어난 관광 수요에 대응해 관광·문화형 체류공간으로 고도화할 예정이다.
주요 사업 내용은 △대본항 방파제 및 물양장·선양장 정비 △도로 및 안전관리시설 개선 △공동작업장 신축 △연동항 관광체험거점 조성 △빈집 정비 및 마을경관 개선 등이다.
총사업비는 103억 원으로, 이 중 국비 70억 원과 지방비 30억 원, 자부담 3억 원이 투입되며 2026년부터 2029년까지 4년간 추진된다.
주낙영 경주시장은 “이번 사업을 통해 경주의 바다가 보다 안전하고 활력이 넘치는 공간으로 거듭나도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Key project highlights include: 1) improvement of Daebon Port's breakwater, wharf, and marina; 2) improvement of roads and safety management facilities; 3) construction of a shared workshop; 4) creation of a tourism experience hub at Yeondong Port; and 5) redevelopment of vacant houses and improvements to the village landscape.
The total project cost is 10.3 billion won, of which 7 billion won will come from the national government, 3 billion won from local governments, and 300 million won from local governments. The project will be implemented over four years, from 2026 to 2029.
