도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령이 6일(현지시간) "(미 연방 대법원 관세 소송에서) 패소 시 미국에 매우 파괴적 결과가 될 것”이라고 우려했다.
영국 '로이터 통신'에 따르면 트럼프 대통령은 이날 워싱톤 DC 백악관에서 글로벌 제약사와의 비만 치료제 가격 인하 합의 발표 후 ‘정부 패소 시 어떤 계획이 있는가'란 취재진 질의에 "그 사건서 이길 거라 생각하며 미 역사상 가장 중요한 사건 중 하나라 생각한다”며 이같이 전했다.
트럼프 대통령은 "파산·번영 차이는 바로 국가 안보"라며 "파산하고 돈 없으면 국가 안보도 없으며 우리는 현재 번영하고 있다"고 했다.

한편 트럼프 대통령은 민주당의 '물가 관리 부실' 주장 관련해선 "월마트 기준 올 추수감사절 장보기 비용 통계 자료를 보면 조 바이든 전임 정부 시기였던 지난해 대비 25% 낮다"며 "생활 물가 관련해 훌륭히 해온 건 공화당이며 민주당은 끔찍했다”고 전했다.
또 "소고기를 제외하면 휘발유 등 모든 가격이 바이든 정부 때보다 내려갔다"며 "여당 공화당이 이런 성과를 적극 얘기하지 않는 게 화난다"고 덧붙였다.
