브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 최태원 SK 회장과 CEO들이 각 사가 추진하는 사업의 운영개선(Operation Improvement, O/I)을 지속적으로 추진함으로써 본원적 경쟁력을 한층 강화하고, 메모리반도체와 AI 데이터센터 등을 기반으로 다가오는 AI 시대 주도권 확보에 선제적으로 대응해 나가기로 뜻을 모았다.
또한, 구조 재편을 통해 AI 시대에 맞게 비즈니스 코어(Core∙본질)를 변화시키는 것에 공감했다. 안전∙보건∙환경(SHE), 정보보안, 준법경영(Compliance) 분야에 대한 역량을 끌어올려 회사의 기본기를 탄탄하게 다지는 것에도 힘을 쏟기로 했다.
SK그룹은 최태원 SK 회장, 최재원 SK 수석부회장, 최창원 SK수펙스추구협의회 의장, 주요 멤버사 최고경영진과 임원 60여명이 참석한 가운데 지난 6일부터 8일까지 경기도 이천 SKMS연구소에서 ‘2025 CEO세미나’를 열고 이같이 의견을 모았다고 밝혔다.
최 회장은 폐회사에서 “O/I가 어려운 말처럼 들릴 수 있지만 기본기를 갖추는 것”이라며 “O/I를 하려면 회사와 사업에 갖춰진 프로세스(절차)를 ‘잘 만들었다’가 중요한 것이 아니라 실제로 잘 작동하는지를 꾸준히 살피는 것이 더 중요하다”고 강조했다.
이어 “회사가 기본적인 바탕 없이 AI 전환을 추진하게 되면 이는 실패를 맞이하는 것과 마찬가지”라며 “지난 5~10년간의 프로세스를 재점검해보면서 실수를 반복하지 않도록 할 필요가 있다”고 덧붙였다.

아울러 최 회장은 AI 시대를 맞아 메모리 반도체 사업을 주축으로 하되 고객에게 종합적이면서도 다양한 설루션을 제공해줄 수 있는 사업자로 진화해야 한다고 강조했다.

한편 이번 CEO세미나에서는 회사의 기본과 원칙을 다지는 측면에서 안전∙보건∙환경(SHE), 정보보안, 준법경영(Compliance) 분야 역량을 강화하는 방안에 대한 논의도 심도 깊게 이어졌다. 경영진들은 그룹 차원의 안전∙보건∙환경 경쟁력 제고를 위한 핵심과제를 점검했으며, 실행력 강화 방안을 지속적으로 모색하기로 했다.
각 사의 정보보안 수준 향상을 위한 개선 방안 논의도 이어졌다. 정보보안을 전략경영의 일환으로 인식하는 한편, 보안 개선 우수사례 등도 함께 공유됐다. CEO들은 또한 그룹의 준법경영을 제고하기 위해 이사회 중심의 자율책임경영 체제를 바탕으로 각별한 노력을 기울이기로 했다.
