필자는 젊은 시절, 기자 초년 시절부터 정치 시나리오에 관심을 가졌었다. 1980년 초, 정치시나리오 작가였던 전병민 작가-백성남 시인 등과 함께 자주 만나곤 했다. 나는 당시, 청와대가 발행했던 '월간 정화(淨化)'지(誌)에 글을 기고했었다.
전병민 작가는 김영삼 전 대통령의 3당합당 시나리오를, 백성남 시인(작고)은 노태우 정권의 중간평가 시나리오 작가였었다. 필자는 호남 출신(전남 담양)으로 야당 지도자인 김대중 정치인의 집권에 유리한 시나리오를 줄곧 제안 했었다.

이 분을 만날 때 마다 느끼는 것이지만, 이 분은 특출 난 아이디어를 가진 시나리오 작가이다. 이명박-박근혜 전 대통령 등, 두 명의 대통령 당선에 기여했던 정치 시나리오 작가인 것.
그는 헤리티지 코리아 창립 준비 위원장이기도 하다. 그가 내세우는 직함은 ▲one city one book 포럼 상임대표 ▲자민총 수도권본부 운영위원장 ▲대한 통일 산악회 수석부회장 ▲행주 치마(스마트폰) 의병대장 등등이다.

이 글에서 “태평성대는 영웅의 무덤 이지만 난세는 영웅을 부른다. 난세가 닥치자 잠자던 태극 의병들이 유관순 열사처럼 방방곡곡에서 일어났다. 거대한 에너지가 광화문을 태웠다. 언제나 그랬었다. 국난이 닥치면 위정자들은 도망을 가도 민초들은 분연히 일어나 나라를 지켰다. 본 거사가 의병장 곽재우 장군의 고향 의령이라는 사실이 늘 자랑스럽다. 국난중의 국난을 맞아 모두가 의병이 되어 영웅의 길 위에 서게 되었다. 영웅이 되기 위한 진통은 만만치 않아 각자 실력을 키우느라 분열이 되어 잠시 폐족이 되었다. 바닥을 치고 말았으니 이제 비상만 남았다.”고 썼다.
