브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 현대자동차는 지난 12일 서울어린이대공원 정문 광장(서울 광진구 소재)에서 ‘2025 현대자동차 정원 개장식’을 개최했다고 13일 밝혔다.
서울어린이대공원의 노후한 정문 광장을 리모델링해 만들어진 ‘현대자동차 정원’은 공원을 찾은 방문객들에게 편안한 휴식을 제공하기 위한 공간으로 꾸며졌다.
‘현대자동차 정원’은 약 900㎡(272.25평) 규모로, △여러 관목과 계절감을 살린 초화 정원 △커뮤니티 휴게공간 △이동식 스툴 △현대차 브랜드 월 등으로 구성됐다.
또한, 한옥 기와 등 전통 양식을 재해석해 한국적인 미를 담아낸 디자인을 곳곳에 적용함으로써 전통과 현대가 어우러진 상징적인 공간이 될 것으로 기대된다.
현대차 관계자는 “서울어린이대공원은 연간 약 700만명의 시민이 방문하는 서울의 대표적인 공원으로, 아름답게 변화한 ‘현대자동차 정원’이 방문객들에게 즐거운 경험을 선사하길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 사회적 가치를 창출하고 나눔을 실천할 수 있는 다양한 활동을 지속해 나갈 것이다”고 말했다.
한편, 현대차는 ESG 경영을 실천하고 사회적 가치를 창출하기 위해 포레스트런 캠페인, 울산 북구 일대 ‘울산숲’ 조성 사업 등 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 펼치고 있다.
