“동남생활권 10분 공세권의 핵심 된다”
농촌공간정비사업 연계로 5만㎡ 규모 광역커뮤니티 조성
충남 당진시가 동남생활권의 대표 공원이자 ‘10분 공세권’의 거점이 될 거산공원 조성사업을 본격 추진한다.
이를 위해 당진시는 13일 주민설명회를 열고 사업계획을 공유하며 시민 의견을 수렴했다. 현재 실시설계는 마무리 단계로, 이르면 내년 상반기 행정 절차를 마친 뒤 2026년 하반기 착공, 2027년 상반기 준공을 목표로 하고 있다.
총 면적 5만2406㎡ 규모로 추진되는 거산공원은 구릉지의 자연 숲을 살린 ‘광역 커뮤니티형 공원’으로 조성된다. 특히 ‘농촌공간정비사업’과 연계해 기존 공원 부지(2만3451㎡)에 추가 부지(2만8955㎡)를 더함으로써 도농 복합형 생활 여가 공간으로 시너지를 높인다.
당진시는 ‘건강한 도시 여가환경’, ‘즐기는 숲속 산림여가’, ‘함께하는 도농 여가’라는 세 가지 콘셉트 아래 시민 모두가 즐길 수 있는 다양한 공간을 마련할 계획이다. 주민 건강을 위한 ‘웰니스숲(Wellness Forest)’, 소통과 만남의 공간 ‘블루 스퀘어(Blue Square)’, 창의적 놀이를 위한 ‘플레이힐(Play Hill)’ 등을 조성한다.
특히 ‘플레이힐’에는 장애 유무와 관계없이 모든 어린이가 함께 이용할 수 있는 무장애 통합놀이터가 포함돼 ‘열린 공원’의 가치를 구현할 예정이다.
당진시는 이번 사업이 단순한 녹지 확충을 넘어 도시와 농촌을 잇는 생활권 통합 프로젝트로 기능할 것으로 기대하고 있다. 공원이 완공되면 주민의 접근성과 생활 편의성이 크게 향상돼, 당진 동남생활권의 정주환경 질을 한 단계 끌어올릴 전망이다.
당진시 관계자는 “거산공원은 지역 주민들이 오랫동안 기다려온 숙원사업으로, 일상 속 여가와 쉼을 누릴 수 있는 시민 중심의 공원이 될 것”이라며 “농촌공간정비사업과 연계해 도농이 함께 성장하는 광역 커뮤니티로 발전시키겠다”고 밝혔다.
