협약에는 응급의료 교육과 학술자료 공유, 구급 장비 공동 활용, 전문 강사 지원, 포항항공대 현장 실습 확대 등이 담겼다. 특히 선린대 학생들이 실제 해양 재난 대응 환경에서 실무 경험을 쌓을 수 있도록 현장 연수 프로그램을 강화한 것이 눈에 띈다.
현진숙 응급구조과 학과장은 “해양경찰과의 협력은 학생들에게 교실에서 얻기 어려운 실무 역량을 길러줄 것”이라며 “현장 중심 교육을 지속해 해양 안전을 책임질 전문 인력을 양성하겠다”고 말했다.
김성종 해경청장을 대신해 협약식에 참석한 김병철 항공단장은 “이번 협약이 해양 현장의 응급 대응 체계 강화로 이어지길 기대한다”며 “미래의 응급의료 인재들이 보다 전문적인 환경에서 성장할 수 있도록 지원하겠다”고 강조했다.
올해 개설 30주년을 맞은 선린대 응급구조과는 높은 국가고시 합격률과 취업률을 기반으로 지역 응급의료 인력 양성에 기여해 왔다. 학교 측은 앞으로도 경북소방본부, 해양경찰청 등 유관기관과 협력을 넓혀 현장 중심 교육을 강화하겠다는 계획이다.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, Sunlin University's Department of Emergency Medical Services has contributed to the development of regional emergency medical personnel based on its high national exam pass rate and employment rate. The school plans to expand cooperation with related organizations, such as the Gyeongbuk Fire Department and the Korea Coast Guard, to strengthen field-oriented education.
