충북 단양군의 시동아리 ‘단시단’이 오는 23일까지 단양올누림센터 바라봄 전시장에서 첫 번째 감성 실험 전시 시 조형전 <시, 작>을 개최한다.
‘단시단’은 2년 전 시를 배우며 모인 8명의 지역 주민이 꾸린 동아리로, 이번 전시는 단순한 시화전 형태를 넘어 시가 지닌 정서·이미지·울림을 다양한 조형 언어로 표현하는 데 초점을 맞췄다.
참여 작가 대부분이 미술 전공자가 아님에도 자신의 시를 색·질감·형태로 재해석하며 시적 감성을 새로운 방식으로 드러냈다는 점에서 전시는 신선한 도전으로 평가된다. 글로 적히던 감정이 시각적 이미지로 옮겨지며 ‘읽는 시’가 ‘보는 시’로 변주된 것이다.
이번 전시는 “시를 어떻게 볼 수 있을까?”라는 질문에서 출발했다.
각자의 내면에서 피어난 시적 풍경을 조형 작품으로 구현한 작품들은 전문적 기교보다 진솔함과 솔직함을 강조하며, 시와 미술의 경계를 허무는 새로운 표현 실험을 보여준다.
‘단시단’ 관계자는 “누군가에게는 서툴게 보일 수도 있지만, 우리에게는 시를 새롭게 바라보고 표현하는 용기 있는 도전이었다”며 “많은 분들이 시와 조형이 만나는 순간을 통해 새로운 감동과 영감을 느끼길 바란다”고 말했다.
