브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 정부가 경기 회복 흐름을 굳히기 위해 연말까지 공공부문 투자를 당초 계획보다 3조원 늘린 69조원 규모로 확대한다. 소비와 수출 등 내·외수 지표가 개선되는 가운데 공공기관의 집행력을 최대치로 끌어올려 회복 모멘텀을 이어간다는 전략이다.
구윤철 경제부총리 겸 기획재정부 장관은 19일 정부세종청사에서 열린 경제관계장관회의에서 "연말까지 긴장의 끈을 놓지 않고 재정이 경제의 든든한 버팀목이 되도록 철저히 관리하겠다"고 밝혔다.
그는 중앙정부와 지방정부가 불용을 최소화하고 필요한 분야에 재정을 신속히 투입해 경제 회복의 불씨를 지역으로 확산시키겠다고 강조했다.
정부는 민생회복 소비쿠폰 등의 효과로 내수가 회복되고 수출도 양호한 흐름을 보이는 등 경제가 뚜렷한 회복 국면에 진입했다고 판단하고 있다. 실제 국내총생산(GDP) 증가율은 지난해 2분기부터 4개 분기 연속 0%대에 머물렀다가 올해 2분기 0.7%로 반등했고, 3분기에는 1.2%까지 회복했다.
이에 따라 한국토지주택공사(LH), 한국전력공사(한전), 한국도로공사, 국가철도공단, 한국수자원공사, 한국가스공사 등 26개 주요 공공기관의 올해 투자 규모를 기존 66조원에서 69조원으로 확대하기로 결정했다. 정부는 경기 하방 위험이 상존하는 상황에서 공공부문의 선제적 재정 집행을 통해 회복세를 강화하겠다는 방침이다.
