유한양행이 ESG경영 연구 확산을 위한 학술 지원을 이어가고 있다.
㈜유한양행은 15일 서울시립대학교 미래관에서 한국전문경영인학회와 함께 ‘제3회 유한 ESG 학술상 시상식’을 개최했다고 18일 밝혔다.
‘유한 ESG 학술상’은 ESG 경영 관련 이론·정책·실무 분야의 우수 연구를 발굴하고 지원하기 위해 2023년 신설된 상으로, 한국전문경영인학회가 주관하고 유한양행이 후원한다. 제도 도입 3년 차를 맞은 올해 역시 ESG 연구 활성화를 목표로 국내외 학계의 다양한 연구가 접수됐다.
올해 대상은 미국 펜실베이니아주립대학교의 리나 왕(Lina Wang) 교수와 서울대학교 살사빌라 아이 샤리안다(Salsabila I. Syalianda) 연구자, 임재현 교수, 박성호 교수의 공동연구 ‘온라인 식료 플랫폼과 식품 폐기물: 인도네시아 플랫폼 데이터를 바탕으로 플랫폼 운영 요인 분석’이 선정됐다.
해당 연구는 플랫폼 기반 식품 유통 구조에서 발생하는 폐기 문제를 데이터 기반으로 분석해 ESG경영의 실무 적용 가능성을 제시한 점에서 높은 평가를 받았다.
최우수상은 이화여자대학교 정지영 연구자와 김상준 교수의 공동연구 ‘ESG 제도화에 따른 인식의 구조화: 대기업과 중소기업의 담론 비교’가 수상했다. 대상 수상자에게는 상금 1천만 원, 최우수상 수상자에게는 500만 원과 상장이 각각 수여됐다.
시상식 축사에 나선 이병만 유한양행 부사장은 “지속가능한 사회를 위한 ESG 연구와 실천이 꾸준히 확산되는 의미 있는 자리가 되고 있다”며 “유한양행은 앞으로도 ESG경영의 학문적 발전과 지속 가능한 미래를 위해 학계와 협력할 것”이라고 말했다.
유한양행은 창업자 고(故) 유일한 박사의 ‘기업 이익의 사회 환원’ 철학을 기반으로 ESG경영 연구 활성화에 기여하고자 지난 2023년부터 유한 ESG 학술상을 후원해오고 있다. 유한양행 측은 앞으로도 ESG 경영 실천과 연구 생태계 확대를 위한 지원 활동을 지속할 계획이라고 설명했다.

The Top Excellence Award was given to the joint research ‘Structuring of Perceptions According to the Institutionalization of ESG: A Comparative Discourse between Large Corporations and SMEs’ by Researcher Ji Young Jung and Professor Sang Joon Kim of Ewha Womans University. The Grand Prize winner received a cash prize of 10 million won, and the Top Excellence Award winners were each presented with 5 million won and a certificate.
