이재명 대통령이 19일(현지시간) "혁신·지속 가능성·공동 번영을 위한 한·UAE 기업인들 노력에 지원을 아끼지 않겠다"고 밝혔다.
이 대통령은 이날 아랍에미리트(UAE) 아부다비 에미리츠팰리스 호텔에서 열린 한·UAE 비즈니스라운드테이블 행사 모두 발언에서 이같이 전했다.
그러면서 양국 간 미래 파트너십 방향으로 AI(인공지능) 중심 미래 성장동력 창출·청정에너지·방산 협력 고도화·소프트파워 협력 등을 제시했다.
이어 "내년 초 한·UAE의 포괄적 경제 동반자 협정 발효와 함께 경제 협력 사업 본격 추진을 위해 총 6개 관련 양해각서(MOU)를 체결했다"며 "한국은 고대역폭메모리(HBM) 등 반도체 기술·설계·조달·시공(EPC) 설비 역량을 바탕으로 UAE 2031년 인공지능 허브 도약을 위한 가장 신뢰있는 파트너가 될 것"이라고 했다.
또 "UAE 태양광 발전 잠재량과 한국 첨단 배터리 기술력을 결합한 에너지 전환 협력은 2050년 탄소중립 공동 달성·친환경 신산업 육성에 크게 기여할 게 분명하다"며 "방산 분야도 공동 개발·기술 협력·현지 생산까지 협력 수준을 제고해 양국 방위 산업 발전에 기여하게 되길 바란다"고 했다.

더불어 "핵연료 관련 현지 공장 건설을 통해 UAE 발전에 이바지하는 호혜 협력이 실현될 걸로 기대한다”며 “양국 협력이 글로벌 차원으로 확산되길 희망한다”고 했다.
칼리드 빈 모하메드 빈 자이드 알나하얀 왕세자는 “한·UAE 관계는 45년 외교 관계 이상을 넘어선다"며 "공동 가치·대화, 파트너십·글로벌 협력 믿음을 근간으로 한다”고 밝혔다.
알 다헤리 아부다비 상공회의소 수석 부회장은 “한·UAE는 금융·디지털·유통 분야에서 함께 할 수 있다”며 “이 자리를 통해 양국 파트너십의 새 장을 열고 주변국뿐 아닌 다른 대륙까지 진출할 수 있다”고 했다.

He continued, "With the Korea-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement coming into effect early next year, we have signed a total of six related Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) to fully pursue economic cooperation projects." He added, "Based on Korea's semiconductor technology, including high-bandwidth memory (HBM), and its engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) facilities, Korea will become the most reliable partner for the UAE's leap forward as an AI hub by 2031."
He also stated, "Cooperation in energy transition, combining the UAE's solar power generation potential with Korea's advanced battery technology, will undoubtedly contribute significantly to the joint achievement of carbon neutrality by 2050 and the development of new, eco-friendly industries." He added, "I hope that the defense industry will also enhance its level of cooperation, encompassing joint development, technological cooperation, and local production, thereby contributing to the development of both countries' defense industries."
