【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구시교육청이 급변하는 디지털 환경에 대응하기 위해 학생들의 핵심 역량을 키우는 ‘학교로 찾아가는 디지털 미디어 문해력 스쿨’을 운영하고 있다.
이 프로그램은 오는 9월부터 12월까지 초등학교 4곳과 중학교 4곳 등 총 8개 학교에서 약 520명의 학생을 대상으로 진행된다. 각 학급별로 2차시 과정으로 이뤄지며, 경북대 미디어커뮤니케이션학과의 협업을 통해 전문성을 높였다.
교육은 2022 개정 교육과정에서 중요하게 다루는 미디어 리터러시 역량을 바탕으로 마련됐다. 특히 디지털 환경에 대한 이해를 높이고 정보를 스스로 탐색·분석·판별하는 능력을 강화하는 한편, 책임 있는 디지털 시민 의식 함양에 중점을 둔다.
초등학교 5~6학년을 대상으로 하는 ‘디지털 액션 스쿨’은 디지털 정서 지능 향상과, 디지털 콘텐츠를 맥락에 맞게 읽고 온라인 문제 상황에 대응하는 시민성 강화를 목표로 한다.
중학교 3학년 대상 ‘디지털 서바이벌 스쿨’은 정보 문해력 향상에 집중한다. 학생들은 생성형 인공지능 이해, 정보 검색법, 팩트체크 활동 등을 통해 가짜뉴스 대응 능력과 올바른 정보 활용 방법을 배우게 된다.
지난 9~10월에는 전체 참여 학생 295명 가운데 90%가 프로그램에 만족한다고 응답했으며, 앞으로 디지털 미디어 사용에도 도움이 될 것이라는 긍정적인 반응이 이어졌다.
강은희 대구시교육감은 “학생들이 디지털 시대의 책임 있는 시민으로 성장할 수 있도록 앞으로도 적극 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.

The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education is operating the "Digital Media Literacy School at Schools" to develop students' core competencies to cope with the rapidly changing digital environment.
This program will be held from September to December at eight schools, including four elementary schools and four middle schools, with approximately 520 students. The "Digital Survival School," for third graders in middle school, focuses on improving information literacy. Students will learn how to counter fake news and utilize accurate information through activities such as understanding generative AI, information retrieval methods, and fact-checking.
Ninety percent of the 295 students who participated in the program between September and October expressed satisfaction with the program, and positive feedback continued, indicating that it will be beneficial for their future use of digital media.
Daegu Metropolitan Superintendent of Education Kang Eun-hee stated, "We will continue to actively support students so they can grow into responsible citizens in the digital age."
