이재명 대통령이 22일(현지시간) 남아프리카공화국 G20(주요20개국) 정상회의에서 근본적 에너지 인프라 시스템 개선 및 국제 사회 연대 필요성 등을 주장했다.
이 대통령은 이날 오후 요하네스버그 엑스포 센터 정상회의장에서 '회복력 있는 세계' 주제로 열린 세션2 연설에서 "유엔재해위험경감국이 지적하는 것처럼 여러 분야서 나타나는 복합 위기"라며 이같이 밝혔다.
그러면서 "우리가 충격을 적절히 흡수하고 복원력을 강화하면 새 기회가 창출되고 새 성장 기반이 마련될 것"이라며 "국제 사회는 기후 위기 대응 노력을 지속 강화해야 한다"고 주장했다.
또 "대한민국은 국제 사회 노력에 동참을 위해 2035년 온실 가스 감축 목표·중장기 기후 탄력적 발전 경로를 확정했다"며 "기후 변화 대응을 위한 국제 사회 여정에 책임 있는 일원으로 함께할 것"이라고 했다.
이어 "(재난 위험 대응은) 예방·복원력 중심으로 재편돼야 한다"며 "올해 G20 재난위험경감 각료회의가 다중 재난 조기경보체계를 도입한 건 매우 적절하다"고 평했다.
더불어 "대한민국 역시 누구나 소외되지 않고 재난 위협으로부터 안전한 미래를 만들기 위해 노력하고 있으며 아시아·태평양 국가들에 홍수 조기 경제 체계 구축 등 재난 위험 저감 사업을 지원 중"이라며 "G20 회원국 여러분과 함께 재난 대응 복원력 강화를 위한 노력에 적극 동참할 것"이라고 밝혔다.
