브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 인천국제공항공사는 국토교통부, 서울특별시, 인천광역시, 경기도 등과 협의를 거쳐 25일부터 6개월 간 인천공항 제1여객터미널 택시 승차장에서 통합배차제를 시범 운영한다고 밝혔다.
통합배차제는 기존에 지역별로 구분돼 있던 택시 승차장을 하나로 통합해 지역과 관계없이 동일한 승차장에서 승객들이 오는 순서대로 택시를 이용하는 방식이다.
인천공항은 국토부 훈령에 따른 택시 공동사업구역으로, 서울특별시, 인천광역시, 경기도(부천시, 광명시, 김포시, 고양시)의 총 6개 지역 택시가 공동으로 운행하고 있다.
특히, 제1여객터미널 택시 승차장은 승객들이 서울, 인천, 경기(부천, 광명, 김포, 고양) 등 목적지에 따라 각기 다른 승차장을 이용하는 ‘지역 배차제’로 운영됐다.
해당 방식은 탑승 전 승객들이 해당 지역 택시 승차장을 찾아 이동해야 하는 번거로움과, 이를 위반할 경우 택시기사들이 부정승차로 제재를 받는다는 위험이 혼재돼 있었다.
이에 따라 공사는 ‘서울’, ‘경기’, ‘인천’으로 나눠져 있던 중형택시를 지역구분 없이 입차 순서대로 배차하는 통합배차제로 변경해 편의성을 높이고, 기존 방식의 문제점을 해소할 계획이다.
기존에는 각 지역별로 동시에 최대 3~4팀이 탑승할 수 있던 것과 달리, 통합 배차제로 개편 시 10팀 이상의 승객을 동시에 탑승시킬 수 있어 승강장의 혼잡도도 완화될 것으로 기대된다.
인천국제공항공사 이학재 사장은 “이번 통합배차제 시범운영을 통해서 해당 제도의 효율성과 편리성을 본격적으로 검토할 수 있을 것”이라며 “앞으로도 관련기관들과 협업 및 소통하며 여객이 공항으로 오고 가는 과정에서 불편이 최소화되도록 개선해 나갈 것이다”고 말했다.
