고양문화재단은 소극장 기획공연 시리즈 ‘2025 새라새 ON 시리즈’의 12월 프로그램으로 연극 ‘진천 사는 추천석’을 오는 12월 6일과 7일 양일간 고양아람누리 새라새극장에서 선보인다고 밝혔다.

‘새라새 ON 시리즈’는 소극장 특유의 현장감과 감동을 살려 다양한 장르의 작품을 소개하는 고양문화재단의 대표적 공연 브랜드다.
이번 12월 무대는 2024년 연극계 각종 시상식에서 화제를 모은 수상작을 초청해 관객들에게 한 해의 마무리를 장식할 특별한 연극 경험을 제공한다.
‘진천 사는 추천석’은 ‘생거진천 사거용인’ 설화를 현대적으로 재해석한 작품이다.
저승차사들이 동명이인을 혼동해 ‘용인 사는 추천석’ 대신 ‘진천 사는 추천석’을 데려오면서 벌어지는 해프닝을 그린 코믹한 소동극이다.
작품은 죽음을 무겁게 표현하기보다 충청도 사투리와 전통 놀이극 형식을 활용해 유쾌하고 신명 나는 분위기로 풀어낸다.
이철희 연출가의 특유의 상상력과 해학이 돋보이는 이번 작품은 ‘잘 사는 것과 잘 죽는 것’에 대한 질문을 던지며 관객들에게 여운을 남긴다. ‘
