파주시 금촌1동이 파주코스모스라이온스클럽과 손잡고 관내 취약계층을 위한 겨울나기 연탄 봉사를 실시했다고 밝혔다.
금촌1동과 복지 사각지대 지원 업무협약을 맺은 파주코스모스라이온스클럽은 매년 꾸준한 나눔 활동을 이어오고 있다.

지난해 겨울 2,000장의 연탄을 기탁한 데 이어, 올해도 지난 26일 연탄 1,000장을 전달하며 이웃사랑을 실천했다.
특히 이번 봉사에서는 연탄이 전달된 네 가정 중 한 곳을 회원들이 직접 방문해 연탄을 나르는 등 현장 봉사에도 적극 참여해 의미를 더했다.
유용숙 파주코스모스라이온스클럽 회장은 "해마다 연탄 가격이 오르는 상황에서 난방 사각지대에 놓인 이웃들을 돕기 위해 올해도 연탄 기탁을 결심했다"며 "이웃들이 조금이라도 더 따뜻하게 겨울을 보낼 수 있기를 바란다"고 밝혔다.
봉사에 참여한 한 회원은 "직접 땀 흘리며 봉사하니 그 기쁨이 배가 된다"며 소감을 전했다.
이은숙 금촌1동장은 "매년 연말마다 연탄 나눔 봉사를 통해 이웃사랑을 실천하는 파주코스모스라이온스클럽에 감사드린다"며 "이번 기탁은 겨울을 앞두고 난방비 부담이 큰 가정에 큰 도움이 될 것"이라고 말했다.
이어 "금촌1동도 주민들이 따뜻하고 안전한 겨울을 보낼 수 있도록 지속적으로 노력하겠다"고 덧붙였다.
한편 파주코스모스라이온스클럽은 금촌1동과의 업무협약을 통해 지역 내 복지 사각지대 해소를 위한 다양한 나눔 활동을 펼치고 있다.
