【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=POSTECH(포항공과대학교) 융합대학원 산업데이터사이언스전공(IDS)이 오는 12월 5일 포스코국제관에서 ‘POSTECH-IDS 산학협력 캡스톤 워크숍 2025’를 개최한다.

이번 워크숍은 산업데이터사이언스 전공 학생들이 한 학기 동안 진행한 캡스톤 프로젝트와 연구 성과를 공유하고, 참여 기업 및 기관과의 교류를 통해 산업 수요 기반의 연구·교육 체계를 강화하기 위해 마련됐다. 더불어 지역 산업 혁신과 데이터 기반 문제 해결 역량 확산, 지속 가능한 산학 협력 생태계 구축을 목표로 한다.
행사는 △오프닝 △기조강연 △사업 성과 소개 △글로벌 캡스톤 사례 공유 △포스터 세션 △진로탐색 소그룹 대화 프로그램 등으로 진행된다.
기조강연은 보험연구원 안철경 원장이 맡아 ‘금융 및 보험산업의 현황과 과제: 데이터, 인공지능 그리고 사회적 가치’를 주제로 발표한다. 이어 김광재 POSTECH 책임교수는 글로벌데이터융합리더양성사업 추진 현황을 소개하고, 고영명 POSTECH 교수는 글로벌 캡스톤 프로그램 운영 방향과 계획을 발표할 예정이다.
오후에는 산업데이터사이언스 전공 학생 20여 명이 참여하는 포스터 발표가 이어지며, 대기업·연구기관, 글로벌 컨설팅 기업, 학계, 금융·보험 분야 전문가 등이 참여하는 ‘진로탐색 소그룹 Talk’도 함께 진행된다. 학생들은 이를 통해 산업 현장의 경험과 커리어 조언을 직접 듣는 기회를 갖게 된다.
김광재 POSTECH 교수는 “산업 데이터사이언스 분야는 기술 변화 속도가 매우 빠른 만큼, 대학 교육도 산업 현장의 목소리를 지속적으로 반영할 필요가 있다”며 “이번 워크숍을 통해 학생 연구가 실제 산업 문제 해결로 이어지고, 산학 협력의 폭도 더욱 확대되기를 기대한다”고 말했다.
한편, 이번 행사는 POSTECH 융합대학원 산업데이터사이언스전공이 주관하고, 과학기술정보통신부, 정보통신기획평가원(IITP), 경상북도, 포항시가 후원한다.

POSTECH to Host 'Industry-Academia Collaboration Capstone Workshop 2025' Next Month
The Industrial Data Science (IDS) major in the Graduate School of Convergence at POSTECH will host the 'POSTECH-IDS Industry-Academia Collaboration Capstone Workshop 2025' at the POSCO International Hall on December 5th.
This workshop aims to share the capstone projects and research outcomes of Industrial Data Science students' semester-long studies and to strengthen the research and education system based on industry needs through exchanges with participating companies and institutions. Furthermore, the workshop aims to foster regional industrial innovation, expand data-based problem-solving capabilities, and establish a sustainable industry-academia collaboration ecosystem.
The event will consist of an opening ceremony, a keynote speech, an introduction to project achievements, a sharing of global capstone cases, a poster session, and a small group discussion program for career exploration.
POSTECH President Chul-kyung Ahn of the Insurance Research Institute will deliver the keynote speech on "Current Status and Challenges of the Finance and Insurance Industry: Data, Artificial Intelligence, and Social Value." Next, Professor Kim Kwang-jae of POSTECH will present the current status of the Global Data Convergence Leader Training Project, while Professor Ko Young-myeong of POSTECH will present the direction and plans for the Global Capstone Program.
In the afternoon, approximately 20 students majoring in Industrial Data Science will present poster presentations, followed by a "Career Exploration Small Group Talk" with participants from large corporations, research institutes, global consulting firms, academia, and experts from the finance and insurance sectors. These small group talks will provide students with an opportunity to directly hear about industry experiences and career advice.
Professor Kim Kwang-jae of POSTECH stated, "The field of industrial data science is rapidly changing, so university education must continuously reflect the voices of the industry." He added, "I hope this workshop will lead student research to real-world solutions to industrial problems and further expand the scope of industry-academia collaboration."
This event is hosted by the Department of Industrial Data Science at POSTECH's Graduate School of Convergence and sponsored by the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Institute of Information and Communications Technology Planning and Evaluation (IITP), Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, and Pohang City.
