[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시와 인제대학교가 지역 정주형 인재 양성 및 산업 혁신을 목표로 한 '글로컬대학 사업' 추진에 속도를 올리고 있다. 27일 인제대학교 본관에서 개최된 '2025년 제4차 글로컬대학 위원회'는 김해 지역의 광역형 지산학(地·産·學) 협력 모델이 새로운 단계로 진입했다.
이번 위원회는 홍태용 김해시장과 전민현 인제대 총장을 공동위원장으로, 안상근 가야대 총장, 편금식 김해대 총장, 노은식 김해상공회의소 회장 등 지역 주요 기관장들이 참여했다. 위원회는 김해 지역의 대학·산업체·지자체 협력을 총괄하는 실질적인 컨트롤 타워 역할을 수행하고 있다.
위원회는 지난 1년간 글로컬대학 사업 성과를 면밀히 점검하고, 다가올 2차연도 사업 성공을 위한 세부 계획을 심의·의결했다.
지난해 9월부터 김해시와 인제대는 대학의 인적·물적 자원을 활용하여 시민의 일상과 지역 경제에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 협업을 진행했다.
김해국제음악제, 웹툰-콘텐츠 공모전 등을 공동 주최해 시민 참여를 확대하고, 스마트물류와 바이오헬스 등 지역전략산업을 주제로 한 학술·정책세미나를 개최해 지역산업의 성장 방향을 모색하는 논의의 장을 마련했다.
김해시와 인제대는 청년정책협의체 운영을 비롯해 정책역량강화 워크숍, 지역문제해결 해커톤, 김해 청년학교 등을 추진하며 청년이 직접 정책을 제안하고 참여할 수 있는 통로를 구축했다. 지자체와 대학이 함께 청년 인재를 키워내고, 이들이 지역에서 일자리를 찾을 수 있도록 선순환 구조를 만드는데 주력하고 있다.
전민현 인제대 총장은 “사업 첫해는 대학의 자원과 역량으로 사업 인프라 구축에 집중했다면 앞으로는‘올시티 캠퍼스’의 질적 내실화에 집중해 청년들이 지역에 머무를 수 있는 환경을 완성하겠다”며“인제대학교 글로컬대학 모델이 지방대학 위기 극복의 표준이 되도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
