파주시가 지방세 체납자의 가상자산을 직접 매각해 체납액을 징수한 혁신적 사례로 전국 적극행정 경진대회 최고상을 받았다.
파주시는 지난 27일 정부세종청사에서 열린 '2025 적극행정 우수사례 경진대회'에서 '디지털 은닉 재산, 끝까지 추적한다! 전국 최초 코인 직접 매각·징수' 사례로 대통령상(대상)을 수상했다고 밝혔다.

이번 경진대회는 행정안전부, 인사혁신처, 국무조정실이 공동으로 주최·주관하는 행사로, 공직문화 혁신과 우수사례 발굴을 목표로 매년 개최되고 있다.
올해 대회에는 전국 지자체에서 총 140건의 우수사례가 접수됐다. 1·2차 예선 심사를 거쳐 파주시의 사례가 본선 진출 상위 6건에 선정됐으며, 본선 발표 점수와 국민심사단 평가 점수를 합산한 최종 심사에서 대상을 차지했다.
파주시는 전국 최초로 지방세 체납자의 가상자산을 법인 계정으로 직접 매각해 체납액을 신속하게 징수하는 시스템을 구축했다.
이를 통해 기존 가상자산 추심의 어려움과 비주류 가상자산의 상장 폐지로 인한 체납처분의 한계를 극복했다.
특히 이번 사례는 고의적인 재산 은닉을 원천 차단하는 효과를 거두며, 시민의 신뢰가 따르는 재정 기반 확립에 기여한 것으로 평가받았다.
