이재명 대통령이 4일 무역의 날을 맞아 "대한민국이 다른 것은 다 선진국이라는데 산업·중대 재해 부문은 후진국"이라고 말했다.
이 대통령은 이날 오후 청와대 영빈관에서 '대한민국을 만든 손, 그 손을 맞잡다' 주제로 열린 산업 역군 초청 오찬 모두 발언에서 "산업 현장 노동자들 피땀으로 대한민국을 이 자리까지 끌어왔으나 앞으로 갈 길은 조금 더 선진화돼야 하겠다는 생각"이라며 이 같이 말했다.
이날 오찬엔 조선·자동차·섬유·전자·기계·방산·해운 등 분야 90여명의 산업 역군들이 초청됐다.
그러면서 "압박하고 겁도 줘보고 수사도 해보고 야단도 쳐보고 하는데 소형 사업장은 오히려 늘고 있다"며 "왜 그런지 모르겠다"고 했다.
이어 "꼭 해결해야겠다는 생각이 든다"며 "일터에서 죽거나 다치지 않도록 최선을 다할 생각"이라고 했다.
또 "노동자들도 상응하는 보상을 받아야 한다"며 "앞으로 일자리는 줄어들고 양극화가 심해질 텐데 정부가 총력을 다해 강도를 줄이고 차이를 조금이라도 적게 하기 위해 노력해야겠다는 생각"이라고 했다.
더불어 "성장을 강화해 새 기회도 많이 생기고 공정한 성장을 이뤄내 사회가 함께 손잡고 모두 행복하게 살아가는 그런 세상을 꼭 만들었으면 좋겠다"고 덧붙였다.
