이재명 대통령이 5일 손정의 소프트뱅크 회장을 만나 AI(인공지능)·반도체 분야 협력 관련 논의를 가졌다고 대통령실이 전했다.
대통령실은 이날 오전 출입 취재진 공지를 통해 이같은 사안을 전했다. 소프트뱅크는 미국에서 오픈AI·오라클과 함께 대규모 AI 기반 시설 구축 '스타게이트' 프로젝트를 추진하는 등 AI 분야에 대대적 투자를 진행 중이다.
이 대통령은 “대한민국은 AI 분야서 세계 3대 강국을 지향하고 있다”며 "AI 역량을 상·하수도처럼 모든 국민이 초보 인프라로 활용할 수 있을 거라 믿는다"고 했다.
그러면서 “ARM 스쿨 개설 할텐데 인공지능 인재 양성에 큰 도움 될 거 같다”며 "인공지능은 위험·유용성을 모두 가진 기술로 양국이 함께 인재·기술을 교류하고 손 회장이 가교 역할을 해주면 협력 폭이 훨씬 넓어질 것”이라고 했다.
손 회장은 "사람들 사이에서 AGI(범용 인공지능)이 언제 실현될지 논란"이라며 "AGI는 등장할 거며 인간 두뇌보다 똑똑해질 건 확실하다"고 했다.
그러면서 "우리가 던질 질문은 AGI가 아닌 ASI가 언제 등장할지"라며 "ASI가 인간 두뇌보다 얼마나 뛰어날지 질문해야 한다"고 했다.
