포항문화재단 관계자는 “동빈문화창고1969는 산업유산이 문화유산으로 전환된 대표 사례”라며, “앞으로 해양문화 및 융복합 창제작 거점으로 자리매김할 수 있도록 킬러콘텐츠 확보와 아카이브 구축, 전시·창작 지원 사업을 지속적으로 추진하겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편 동빈문화창고1969는 전시·공연·행사 등이 가능한 대관 공간 2개소(다목적홀 1·2)를 운영하며 지역 문화예술 활동의 허브 역할을 수행한다. 현재는 스틸아트 작품을 기반으로 장애 여부와 관계없이 누구나 참여할 수 있는 무장애 전시 ‘모두의 스틸아트, 손으로 읽는 포항’이 13일까지 진행 중이며, 연말까지 다양한 프로그램들이 이어질 예정이다.
