【브레이크뉴스 경북】진예솔 기자=경북교육청이 초등학교 6학년 학생들이 자연스럽게 중학교 생활에 적응할 수 있도록 ‘2026 미리 보는 중학 생활’ 자료를 활용한 전환기 진로 교육을 본격적으로 운영한다.
경북교육청은 8일, 이번 자료는 사전 설문조사 결과를 토대로 기존 안내서를 한층 보완하고, 수업 즉시 활용 가능한 교수·학습 자료와 학생 활동지, 영상 자료 등으로 새롭게 구성했다고 밝혔다. 이를 통해 예비 중학생들이 실제 수업 속에서 중학교 생활을 미리 경험하고, 진로를 탐색하며 새 출발을 준비할 수 있도록 지원한다는 방침이다.
이번에 제작된 자료는 안내서를 비롯해 교사용 교수·학습용 PPT, 학생용 활동지, 짧은 영상, 다국어 안내서 등 총 5종으로 확대됐다. 특히 기존 학생 안내서 위주에서 벗어나 다문화 학생을 위한 번역본과 가정에서 활용할 수 있는 영상 자료까지 추가하면서, 학교-가정-학생을 잇는 지원 체계를 한층 강화했다.
도내 초등학교와 특수학교 6학년 학생 모두에게 1인 1권씩 배부되는 안내서에는 중학교에서의 하루 일과, 수업 및 평가 방식, 생활 규정, 준비물, 자유학기제와 학교자율시간, 기초 진로 탐색 등이 알기 쉽게 정리돼 있다. 교수·학습용 PPT와 활동지는 학교자율시간과 창의적 체험활동 등과 연계해 교실 현장에서 바로 활용할 수 있도록 구성됐다.
중학교 생활과 수업 모습을 담은 짧은 영상 2편은 세로형과 가로형으로 제작돼, 모바일과 PC에서 모두 시청할 수 있다. 이 영상들은 교실 수업이나 아침 활동, 학부모 연수 자료로 활용되고 있다.
아울러 다문화 학생을 위한 다국어 안내서는 웹본으로 제공돼, 언어와 문화의 장벽을 낮추고 전환기 적응에 실질적인 도움이 되고 있다는 평가다.
자료를 활용한 한 교사는 “준비 부담이 크게 줄었고, 학생들이 활동지와 영상을 통해 중학교 생활을 미리 체험해볼 수 있어 큰 도움을 받고 있다”고 말했다.
경북교육청은 앞으로도 가정에서도 전환기 지원이 이어질 수 있도록, 예비 초·중·고 학부모를 대상으로 ‘2026 학교생활 완전 정복’ 설명회를 내년 1~2월 두 차례 열 계획이다.
임종식 교육감은 “전환기는 학습과 생활이 이어지는 중요한 시기”라며 “학교급 간 단절 없이 성장할 수 있도록 전환교육을 지속 강화하고, 학생들이 기대를 안고 다음 단계를 준비해 진로를 주도적으로 설계할 수 있도록 현장 중심 지원을 확대하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Furthermore, the multilingual guidebook for multicultural students is available as a web-based version, helping to bridge language and cultural barriers and providing practical assistance in transitioning students.
One teacher who utilized the guidebook commented, "The burden of preparation has been significantly reduced, and students are finding it incredibly helpful to experience middle school life in advance through the activity sheets and videos."
To ensure that transition support continues at home, the Gyeongbuk Office of Education plans to hold two briefing sessions titled "Completely Mastering School Life in 2026" for prospective elementary, middle, and high school students, in January and February of next year.
Superintendent Lim Jong-sik stated, "Transition is a crucial time where learning and life are intertwined. We will continue to strengthen transition education to ensure seamless growth between school levels. We will also expand field-based support so that students can proactively plan their future paths by preparing for the next stage with anticipation."
