박 전 시장은 이날 발표한 출마 선언문에서 “이번이 마지막이라는 각오로 모든 경험과 역량을 쏟아붓겠다”며 “도시의 멈춰 선 흐름을 다시 움직이겠다”고 밝혔다.

포항의 산업 구조 변화에 대해서는 “철강 도시에서 녹색 철강·조선·해양 산업 도시로의 전환이 필요하다”며 “K-스틸법 추진과 조선소 유치 등 현안들을 하나로 엮어 미래 30년을 설계하겠다”고 강조했다.
박 전 시장은 “포항은 지금 중요한 기로에 있다. 시민과 함께 리셋할 때만 포항이 다시 뛸 수 있다”며 “경험과 반성, 그리고 실행으로 응답하겠다”고 밝혔다. 박승호 전 시장은 2006~2014년 포항시장을 지냈다.
