【브레이크뉴스 영덕】박영재 기자=영덕군종합자원봉사센터는 지난 5일 영덕문화체육센터 실내체육관에서 ‘2025 자원봉사자 대회’를 개최하고, 한 해 동안 지역사회 발전을 위해 헌신한 우수 자원봉사자와 단체를 선정해 시상했다.

9일 영덕군에 따르면 올해 행사는 ‘자원봉사 온기의 물결, 다시 잇는 영덕의 희망’을 주제로 진행됐으며, 연간 활동 보고 영상 상영, 레크레이션, 장기자랑 등 다양한 프로그램이 마련돼 참가자들이 활동 성과를 공유하고 상호 격려하는 시간을 가졌다.
특히 올해 수상자는 지난 3월 경북지역 산불 발생 당시 대피소 급식 지원, 구호물품 배분, 임시주거시설 정리 및 환경 조성, 이·미용 봉사 등 재난 대응 현장에서 두드러진 활동을 펼친 봉사자가 다수 포함된 것으로 전해졌다.
우수단체에는 바르게살기운동 영덕군협의회, 대한적십자사 영덕군협의회, 영덕군 새마을회, 한국생활개선 영덕군연합회, 영덕군 귀농귀촌연합회, 주민자치위원회, 의용소방연합회, 한국여성유권자경북연맹 영덕지부, 바리스타 청춘카페봉사단, 영덕군 여성단체협의회, 영덕해송라이온스클럽, 한국수력원자력 건설기술처 입지실 등이 선정됐다. 개인 부문에서는 이건건축사무소 이광일 대표가 수상했다.
권용걸 영덕군종합자원봉사센터장은 “여러분의 따뜻한 손길 하나하나가 피해 주민들에게 삶의 희망을 되찾게 하는 원동력이 됐다”며 “모든 봉사자가 영덕의 미래를 지탱하는 소중한 자산”이라고 말했다.
한편 영덕군종합자원봉사센터는 올해 재난 대응 경험을 바탕으로 대응체계 고도화와 자원봉사 역량 강화 교육 프로그램 확대를 추진하며 지역사회 내 자원봉사 모델 구축에 나선다는 계획이다.

The Yeongdeok County Volunteer Center held the '2025 Volunteer Competition' on the 5th at the Yeongdeok Culture and Sports Center Indoor Gymnasium, awarding outstanding volunteers and organizations who have dedicated themselves to the development of the local community throughout the year.
This year's event, themed "The Wave of Volunteer Warmth, Reconnecting Yeongdeok's Hope," featured a variety of programs, including a video screening of annual activity reports, recreational activities, and talent shows, allowing participants to share their accomplishments and encourage one another.
This year's award recipients were notable volunteers who demonstrated outstanding service in disaster response efforts, including providing meals to evacuation centers, distributing relief supplies, organizing and improving the environment of temporary housing, and providing hair and beauty services during the Gyeongbuk wildfires in March.
The outstanding organizations selected included the Yeongdeok County Council of the Righteous Living Movement, the Yeongdeok County Council of the Korean Red Cross, the Yeongdeok County Saemaul Movement, the Yeongdeok County Association of Korean Living Improvement, the Yeongdeok County Association of Returning Farmers and Rural Communities, the Residents' Autonomy Committee, the Volunteer Firefighters' Association, the Yeongdeok Branch of the Korean Women Voters' Association of Gyeongbuk, the Barista Youth Cafe Volunteer Group, the Yeongdeok County Women's Organizations Council, the Yeongdeok Haesong Lions Club, and the Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Construction Technology Office's Location Office. In the individual category, Lee Gwang-il, CEO of Eagon Architects, received the award.
Kwon Yong-geol, Director of the Yeongdeok County Volunteer Center, said, "Each of your warm gestures has been a driving force in restoring hope to the affected residents. Every volunteer is a valuable asset that supports the future of Yeongdeok."
Meanwhile, the Yeongdeok County Volunteer Center plans to build a model for volunteerism within the community by enhancing its response system and expanding volunteer capacity-building training programs based on its disaster response experience this year.
