[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 평거종합사회복지관은 8일 유관기관 관계자와 지역주민 등 100여 명이 참석한 가운데 분관 개관식을 열고 지역 복지서비스 강화의 새로운 전환점을 마련했다.
개관식은 판문동 풍물패의 식전공연으로 시작해 복지관 연혁 및 경과보고, 축사 등이 이어졌으며, 테이프 컷팅과 시설 라운딩 등 공식 행사가 차질 없이 진행됐다.
이번에 문을 연 분관은 평거동 고령자복지주택 진주평거햇살마을 내 사회복지시설동에 조성, 1층에는 사무실·건강증진센터·프로그램실을, 3층에는 대강당을 갖춘 공간으로 리모델링됐다.
사회복지시설동에는 서부시니어클럽, 경로당, 국공립어린이집, 코인빨래방, 실버식당 등 다양한 기관이 들어서 폭넓은 계층을 위한 맞춤형 복지서비스 제공이 가능해졌다.
김순자 관장은 “평거복지관은 30여 년간 지역주민의 든든한 이웃 역할을 해왔다”며 “이번 분관 개관을 계기로 더욱 가까이에서 주민과 소통하며 질 높은 복지서비스 제공하겠다”고 전했다.
진주시 관계자는 “평거종합사회복지관 분관이 늘어나는 복지 수요에 적극 대응해 지역주민 삶의 질을 높이는 따뜻한 복지 거점으로 성장할 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다.
한편 평거복지관은 사례관리, 건강교육, 장난감은행 운영 등 다양한 프로그램을 지속적으로 운영하며 지역사회의 사랑방 역할을 꾸준히 수행해 오고 있다.
