포항시는 지난 8일 경산시와 함께 고향사랑기부제를 활용한 상호기부를 진행했으며, 이번 기부에는 포항시 도시안전주택국 공무원 35명과 경산시 건설안전국 공무원 35명이 참여했다. 두 지자체는 각각 350만 원의 기부금을 상대 자치단체에 기탁했다.
두 도시의 안전 부서가 직접 참여한 만큼, 지역 안전과 공동체 복지 향상에 대한 상호 공감대를 형성하고 협력 의지를 높이는 계기가 됐다는 평가다.
포항시는 상호기부에 앞서 경산시 공무원들에게 ‘연말정산 대비 포항시 고향사랑기부제 과메기 증정 BIG 이벤트’를 안내했다. 오는 19일까지 10만 원 이상 기부자를 대상으로 포항 대표 특산품인 과메기·야채세트를 추첨 증정하는 행사로, 경산시 공무원들 사이에서도 관심이 높았다는 설명이다.
박재관 포항시 자치행정국장은 “도시 안전을 책임지는 양 도시 공무원들이 나눔에 동참하며 이웃 도시 간 연대와 우정이 더욱 깊어졌다”며 “이번 상호기부가 연말 지역사회에 따뜻한 온기를 더하는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.

This event, which will run until the 19th and will feature a raffle prize of Pohang's signature specialty, gwamegi (Korean dried pollack) and vegetable sets, for donors of 100,000 won or more, has garnered significant interest among Gyeongsan City officials.
Park Jae-gwan, Director of the Pohang City Autonomous Administration Bureau, said, "With officials from both cities responsible for urban safety participating in this sharing effort, solidarity and friendship between neighboring cities have deepened. I hope this mutual donation will serve as an opportunity to add warmth to the local community at the end of the year."
