포스코 포항제철소, 나눔의집 리모델링 기념 현판식 열어

【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포스코 포항제철소는 10일 포항시 해도동 ‘포스코 나눔의집’에서 포스코1%나눔재단의 ‘희망공간’ 사업 지원을 기념하는 현판식을 열고 지역사회 나눔 활동을 강화한다고  밝혔다.

나눔의집은 포스코가 송도·해도 지역에서 운영하는 무료급식소로, 지역 내 경제적으로 어려운 어르신과 주민들에게 따뜻한 식사를 제공해 왔다. 이날 행사에는 포항제철소 관계자와 유호성 해도동장을 비롯해 20여 명이 참석했다.

이번 시설 개선은 포스코1%나눔재단의 지원을 통해 이뤄졌으며, 지붕 및 전기 설비 보수, 노후 간판과 내부 시트지 교체 등이 진행됐다. 새 간판은 포스코의 고해상도 프린팅 강판 기술 ‘포스아트’로 제작돼 상징성을 더했다. 또한 포항제철소 목공예봉사단이 참여해 시설 주변에 그늘막과 간이 의자를 설치함으로써 이용자 편의성이 한층 강화됐다.

포항제철소 관계자는 “나눔의집은 단순한 급식의 장이 아니라 이웃과 마음을 나누는 지역 공동체 공간”이라며 “앞으로도 지역사회와 함께하는 상생 활동을 지속적으로 확대해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

POSCO Pohang Works held a signboard unveiling ceremony on the 10th at the "POSCO Sharing House" in Haedo-dong, Pohang, to commemorate support for the POSCO 1% Sharing Foundation's "Hope Space" project. The company announced plans to strengthen its community sharing activities.

The Sharing House is a free meal center operated by POSCO in the Songdo and Haedo areas, providing warm meals to economically disadvantaged seniors and residents. Approximately 20 people attended the event, including Pohang Works officials and Haedo-dong Mayor Yoo Ho-seong.

This facility improvement, made possible with support from the POSCO 1% Sharing Foundation, included roof and electrical repairs, as well as replacement of aging signboards and interior paper. The new signboards were produced using POSCO's high-resolution steel plate printing technology, "PosART," for added symbolism. Furthermore, the Pohang Works' woodworking volunteer group participated in installing shade canopies and folding chairs around the facility, further enhancing user convenience.

A POSCO official said, “Nanum House is not just a place for meals, but a local community space where people can share their hearts with their neighbors,” adding, “We will continue to expand our mutually beneficial activities with the local community in the future.”
