이번 평가는 녹색쌈지숲 등 14개 사업 66개소를 대상으로 진행, 진주시는 예산 집행, 사업 실적, 시민 참여도, 현장 평가 등 4개 분야 전반에서 우수한 성과를 인정받아 수상 기관에 이름을 올렸다.
시는 정촌 예하초등학교 주변에 자녀안심 그린숲을 조성해 안전한 통학로 환경을 마련했으며, 도시숲 위원회 운영과 산림청 공모사업 참여 등을 통해 도시숲 품질 향상과 전문성 강화에 적극 나선 점이 높은 평가로 이어졌다.
