브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 스타필드 코엑스몰 별마당 도서관이 ‘제8회 열린 아트 공모전’을 개최하고 내년 1월 18일까지 작품을 접수한다.
2019년 시작된 이 공모전은 창작자 발굴과 지원을 목적으로 운영돼 왔으며, 지금까지 900여 명의 작가가 참여했다. 대상 수상작은 별마당 도서관에 전시돼 시민 누구나 관람할 수 있는 공공미술 플랫폼 역할을 해왔다.
올해는 심사 체계를 고도화해 공간 경험과 예술성을 균형 있게 평가하는 기준을 강화했다. 스타필드 내부 심사위원단이 새로 참여해 작품의 구조적 완성도, 예산 적정성, 공간 연출 가능성 등을 검토하고, 예술계 전문가들은 스토리·창의성·공감성 중심의 블라인드 심사를 진행한다.
출품 주제는 ‘자유 주제’ 또는 ‘책 이야기에서 얻은 영감’ 중 선택할 수 있다. 문학 속 서사나 상징을 시각예술로 재해석한 작품, 혹은 개인의 독서 경험을 조형적으로 표현한 작품 등이 포함된다. 공모 분야는 설치·조형 예술 및 미디어아트다.
작품은 별마당 도서관 중앙 공간 활용이 필수이며, 계단·천장 등 부가 공간은 콘셉트에 따라 확장할 수 있다.
대상 수상자에게는 상금 1천만 원과 함께 작품 제작 및 전시 지원이 제공된다. 우수상 2점에는 각 300만 원, 입선 5점에는 100만 원 상당의 상품권이 수여된다. 최종 결과는 2026년 2월 발표되며, 대상작은 같은 해 5월 말 별마당 도서관에서 전시된다.

Starfield Byeolmadang Library Hosts '8th Open Art Contest'
Starfield COEX Mall Byeolmadang Library is hosting the '8th Open Art Contest' and accepting submissions until January 18th of next year.
Launched in 2019, the contest aims to discover and support creative artists. To date, over 900 artists have participated. The grand prize-winning work is displayed at Byeolmadang Library, serving as a public art platform open to the public.
This year, the judging system has been revamped to ensure a balanced evaluation of both spatial experience and artistic quality. A new Starfield internal judging panel will review the works' structural integrity, budgetary appropriateness, and spatial presentation potential. The grand prize winner will receive a cash prize of 10 million won and support for the production and exhibition of the work. Two excellence prizes will each receive 3 million won, and five finalists will receive gift certificates worth 1 million won each. The final results will be announced in February 2026, and the grand prize winner will be exhibited at Byeolmadang Library in late May of the same year.
