신년맞이 행사는 그동안 신천둔치에서 열렸지만, 2023년부터는 앞산 해넘이 전망대가 있는 앞산빨래터공원으로 장소를 옮겨 개최되고 있다. 주민들이 일상 속에서 자연스럽게 참여할 수 있는 대표 행사로 자리매김했다는 평가다.
올해 축제는 ‘2025 앞산 겨울정원’과 연계해 크리스마스트리와 빛 조형물이 한 해의 마무리에 분위기를 더한다. 가족과 연인이 함께 산책을 즐기며 해넘이를 감상할 수 있도록 다양한 볼거리와 공연, 프로그램이 준비돼 있다.
남구는 생산기반 산업이 부족한 지역 특성을 고려해 앞산을 활용한 관광 콘텐츠에 힘을 쏟고 있다. 해넘이 축제 역시 지역 상권 활성화와 연계한 실질적인 지원 행사가 될 전망이다.
행사 당일에는 2025년의 끝과 2026년의 시작을 주제로 한 클래식 공연, 대북 공연이 이어진다. 지역 가수들이 꾸미는 트로트 무대, 해넘이 일몰 감상, 새해 먹거리와 체험 부스도 운영된다.
조재구 남구청장은 “앞산 관광 자원을 활용해 지역민이 체감할 수 있는 축제를 준비했다”며 “다사다난했던 한 해의 마지막 날, 앞산빨래터공원에서 새로운 희망을 맞이하길 바란다”고 밝혔다.
