브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 삼성전자는 삼성 가전 사용자들에게 한층 강화된 전기요금 절감 혜택을 제공하기 위해 글로벌 주요 에너지 기업들과 파트너십을 확대했다고 16일 밝혔다.
먼저, 삼성전자는 이탈리아 최대 규모의 전력∙에너지 기업 ‘에넬(Enel)’과 파트너십을 체결하고, 16일(현지시간)부터 삼성 세탁기를 구매한 고객에게 2년간 최대 180KWh의 세탁용 전기를 무료로 제공하기로 했다. 180KWh는 유럽에서 삼성전자 A등급 세탁기를 약 2년 동안 사용할 수 있는 전력량이다.
에넬로부터 전기를 공급받는 고객은 누구나 삼성전자 세탁기를 구입한 뒤 스마트싱스(SmartThings)에 연동하면 무료 전기 혜택을 받을 수 있다.
아울러 삼성전자는 지난달 영국 에너지 기업 ‘브리티시 가스(British Gas)’와 삼성전자 제품 구매자 전용 ‘삼성 주말 세이버 고정 요금제(Samsung Weekend Saver Fix)’를 출시했다.
이 요금제는 토∙일요일 오전 11시부터 오후 4시 사이에 집안 전기요금을 50% 할인한다. 전기요금 절감 혜택을 통해 사용자는 금전적 부담을 낮출 수 있고, 에너지 기업은 전력 수요가 낮은 낮시간으로 전기 사용을 유도해 잉여 전력 활용도를 높이고 전력망 과부화도 막을 수 있다.
브리티시 가스의 전기를 사용하는 고객이 삼성전자 제품을 새로 구매하면 ‘삼성 주말 세이버 고정 요금제’에 가입할 수 있다. 가전제품은 세탁기, 건조기, 식기세척기, 냉장고∙냉동고, 오븐, 전자레인지, 무선스틱청소기, 로봇청소기가 해당된다.
또한, 삼성전자는 네덜란드 에너지 기업 ‘쿨블루(CoolBlue)’와도 파트너십을 이어오고 있다. 지난 6월에는 낮 12시부터 오후 3시 사이에 삼성전자 세탁기 사용시 전기요금이 무료인 ‘무료 세탁 프로그램’을 시작했고, 9월부터는 건조기 사용시까지 전기요금 무료 혜택을 확대했다.
쿨블루에서 전기를 공급받는 가정이 ‘무료 세탁 프로그램’에 가입한 뒤 보유중인 삼성전자 제품을 스마트싱스에 연동하면 자동으로 혜택이 제공된다.
더불어 삼성전자는 지난 해 7월부터 미국 에너지 기업 ‘리프(Leap)’와 협업해 스마트싱스에 연결된 가전의 소비전력을 최적화하는 '플렉스 커넥트(Flex Connect)' 프로그램을 운영하고 있다.
이 프로그램은 전력수요가 몰려 전력망이 불안정할 때 스마트싱스 ‘AI 절약모드’를 활용해 자동으로 연결된 가전의 소비전력을 최적화한다. ‘AI 절약모드’가 동작할 때마다 고객에게 삼성닷컴에서 사용할 수 있는 포인트도 제공한다.
캘리포니아, 뉴욕을 시작으로 올해 3월 텍사스까지 대상 지역을 넓혔으며, 향후 더 많은 미국 소비자들이 혜택을 누릴 수 있도록 지속 확장해 나갈 예정이다.

한편, 삼성전자는 내년 1월 미국 라스베이거스에서 열리는 CES 2026에서 ‘더 퍼스트룩(The Firstlook)’ 전시를 개최하고 업계를 선도하는 에너지 고효율 AI 가전들을 선보일 예정이다.
