이 의원은 최근 개정된 「시설물의 안전 및 유지관리에 관한 특별법」 시행령을 언급하며, “준공 후 30년이 지난 제2·3종 시설물까지 정밀안전진단이 의무화된 만큼, 증평군 역시 법령 변화에 맞춰 사전 점검체계를 강화하고 선제적으로 대응해야 한다”고 말했다.
또한 “이제는 단순 보수 위주의 대응에서 벗어나 시설별 노후도와 구조 안전성, 이용 수요, 중·장기 재정계획을 종합 분석한 단계별 재건축 로드맵 수립이 필요하다”며 “개보수·철거·재건축의 우선순위를 명확히 설정해 예산 집행의 효율성을 높이고 주민 불편과 안전 위협을 최소화해야 한다”고 주장했다.
