고양특례시가 킨텍스 제1전시장 옥상 유휴 부지를 활용한 친환경 태양광 발전시설을 준공하고 내년 1월부터 본격 운영에 들어간다.
이동환 시장은 일산서구 대화동 킨텍스 제1전시장에 시비 약 10억 원을 투입해 256KW 규모의 공공 태양광 발전시설을 완공했다고 밝혔다.
이번 시설은 연간 33만KWH의 전력을 생산할 수 있으며, 연간 약 7천만 원의 발전 수익이 예상된다.

환경적 측면에서도 연간 50톤의 이산화탄소 감축 효과로 소나무 1만여 그루를 심는 것과 같은 효과를 거둘 것으로 기대된다.
시는 여기서 그치지 않고 태양광 발전 시설을 더욱 확대한다.
기후에너지환경부가 주관하는 2026년 신재생에너지보급(융복합지원)사업에 공모해 국비 11억 원과 시비 10억 원 등 총 26억 원의 사업비를 확보한 것이다.
확보한 사업비 중 11억 원을 투입해 킨텍스 제1전시장 건물 벽면을 활용한 태양광 발전 모듈(BIPV, 52KW)과 지열 히트 펌프 발전 설비(735KW)를 추가로 설치할 계획이다.
지열 히트 펌프는 건물 밑 에너지의 온도차를 활용하는 방식으로, 옥상과 벽면, 땅속까지 입체적으로 청정에너지 발전설비를 구축하게 된다.
이를 통해 연간 약 5천만 원의 전기요금 추가 절감 효과가 예상된다.
한편 시는 킨텍스 제1전시장 로비에 캐릭터 '햇살이'가 안내하는 공공 태양광 발전설비 홍보 키오스크를 설치해 전시장을 방문하는 어린이들에게 큰 호응을 얻고 있다.
시 관계자는 "재생에너지 100% 사용(RE100) 실현을 위해 신재생에너지 보급을 지속적으로 추진해 나갈 것"이라고 밝혔다.

Mayor Lee Dong-hwan announced the completion of a 256-kilowatt public solar power plant at KINTEX Exhibition Center 1 in Daehwa-dong, Ilsanseo-gu, with a city investment of approximately 1 billion KRW.
