경북도의회 “TK신공항 조기 착공 위해 국가 지원 확정해야”

【브레이크뉴스 안동】박영재 기자=경북도의회 통합신공항특별위원회는 18일 오전 도의회 기자실에서 성명서를 발표하고 대구경북(TK) 신공항의 조기 착공을 위한 정부 차원의 지원을 촉구했다고 밝혔다.

도의회에 따르면 특위는 성명에서 △TK 신공항 건설을 위한 범정부 태스크포스(TF) 구성 △특별법에 따른 국가 지원 범위와 규모의 조기 확정 △물류 특화형 관문공항으로의 육성 △신공항 건설 과정에 한국토지주택공사(LH) 참여 △공항 개항 시기에 맞춘 연계 광역교통망 구축 등을 요구했다.

이충원 통합신공항특별위원장은 “순수 민간공항은 전액 국비로 건설되는 반면, 국가 안보와 직결된 군공항은 지방정부가 책임지는 현재의 구조는 명백한 모순”이라며 “지역 시·도민의 합의로 이전이 추진되고, 대구경북신공항특별법에도 정부 지원 책임이 명시된 만큼 정부는 지금이라도 성공적인 공항 건설을 위한 국가 지원 방안을 확정해야 한다”고 말했다.

특위는 특히 정부의 내년도 예산안에 대구시가 요청한 공공자금관리기금 융자와 금융비용 지원이 반영되지 않으면서, 2030년 개항 계획에 차질이 생길 수 있다는 도민들의 우려가 커지고 있다고 지적했다.

TK 신공항은 ‘군공항 이전 및 지원에 관한 특별법’에 따라 기부 대 양여 방식으로 군공항과 민간공항을 함께 이전하는 사업이다. 이재명 대통령은 광주와 대구에서 열린 타운홀 미팅에서 특별법 개정을 통해 정부 재정 지원을 명시했으며, 군공항 이전은 국가 사무라는 점을 분명히 밝힌 바 있다.

특위는 “70년 넘게 대한민국 영공을 지켜온 군공항의 현대화와 대구·경북 반도체 등 신산업 육성을 위해서라도 TK 신공항의 조기 개항은 반드시 필요하다”며 “정부가 더 이상 책임을 미뤄서는 안 된다”고 강조했다.
