【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=지난 15일 국회 국민동의 청원 게시판에 '포항시 남구 공립 특수학교 설립에 관한 청원'이 게시됐다.
게시자는 “포항시 남구 지역 장애학생들의 학습권과 안전권을 보장하고, 지속가능한 특수교육을 통해 진로까지 연계되는 교육환경을 마련하기 위해 공립 특수학교 설립이 필요하다”고 청원의 취지를 밝혔다.
이어 “현재 포항 전역의 특수교육 수요를 사립인 포항명도학교 1곳이 사실상 감당하고 있어 학생 수와 시설 모두 한계에 이르렀고, 이로 인해 전학이 어려워 특수교육 기회를 놓치는 장애학생들이 발생하고 있으며 남구 지역 학생들은 장거리 통학과 안전 문제까지 겪고 있다”고 호소했다.
그러면서 “남구 지역에 유·초·중·고 및 전공과까지 연계 가능한 통합형 공립 특수학교를 신설하고, 통폐합되거나 유휴 교사가 발생한 학교 부지를 활용해 교육 접근성을 높이며, 설립 과정에서 학부모와 교사, 지역주민의 의견을 적극 반영해 포용교육의 거점이 되는 학교를 조속히 추진해 달라”고 강조했다.
한편 현재 해당 청원은 18일 오후 3시 50분 기준 133명의 동의를 얻었다.
국민동의청원 접수절차는 청원서 등록 이후 30일 이내에 100명의 찬성을 얻어야 공개되며, 공개된 후 30일 이내에 5만 명의 동의를 얻어야 위원회에 회부된다. 조건 미달시 자동 폐기된다.

Meanwhile, as of 3:50 PM on the 18th, the petition has garnered 133 signatures.
The national petition submission process requires 100 signatures within 30 days of registration. 50,000 signatures within 30 days of publication are required for the petition to be submitted to the committee. Failure to meet these requirements will result in automatic termination.
