이재명 대통령이 18일 더불어민주당 대전·충남 의원들을 만나 “다가오는 지방선거에 통합 자치단체 새 장을 뽑을 수 있게 중앙정부 차원서 실질·실효적 행정 조력을 해야 한다”고 주장했다고 대통령실이 전했다.
강유정 대변인은 이날 오후 서면 브리핑에서 "이 대통령이 용산 대통령실에서 대전·충남 민주당 의원들과 오찬 간담회를 가졌다"며 이같이 전했다.
이 대통령은 “해야 할 일이 정말 많다”며 “지방정부 통합이 쉽지 않으나 복잡한 정치적 이해관계를 넘어선 정책적 판단이 필요하다”고 했다.
