"늘 이웃곁에"...포항중앙교회, 성탄 맞아 취약계층에 연탄·전기장판 전달

【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포항중앙교회(담임목사 손병렬)가 성탄을 앞두고 포항시 북구 환여동 일대 취약계층 가정을 찾아 연탄 2만 장과 전기장판 80장을 전달했다고 18일 밝혔다.

이번 나눔 행사에는 손 목사를 비롯해 김응수 북구청장, 포항시 관계 공무원, 교인등 200여 명이 참여했다. 참석자들은 직접 가정을 방문해 연탄을 나르고, 주민들에게 따뜻한 위로를 전했다.

포항중앙교회는 매년 겨울 연탄 나눔을 통해 지역사회 어려운 이웃을 돕고 있으며, 올해는 지원 범위를 북구 전역으로 확대하고 전기장판을 추가로 전달해 실질적 도움을 강화했다.

손병렬 목사는 “교회는 늘 이웃 곁에 머물러야 한다는 사명을 갖고 있다”며 “앞으로도 지역사회 속에서 빛과 소금의 역할을 감당하는 공동체로 서겠다”고 말했다.

이와함께  포항중앙교회는 지난 15일 포항 대흥동 ‘만나의집’을 방문해 형편이 어려운 노인과 독거노인에게 100만 원 상당의 후원물품도 전달했다. 이번 활동은 대림절과 성탄의 의미를 따라, 세상 가운데 오신 그리스도의 사랑을 삶으로 증거하는 교회의 신앙 고백이라는 설명이다.

포항중앙교회는 연탄 나눔, 후원 활동 등 다양한 섬김 사역을 통해 지역사회와 함께하는 교회의 본질을 실천하고 있다.

In addition, Pohang Central Church visited "Manna's House" in Daeheung-dong, Pohang, on the 15th and donated 1 million won worth of supplies to needy seniors and those living alone. This activity was described as a declaration of faith by the church, bearing witness to the love of Christ who came into the world through their lives, in keeping with the meaning of Advent and Christmas.
