고양특례시는 지난 18일, 2026 밀라노·코르티나 동계올림픽 쇼트트랙 국가대표 임종언 선수(남·18세)가 고양시청 직장운동경기부에 공식 입단했다고 밝혔다.
임종언 선수는 주니어 무대에서 일찌감치 두각을 나타내며 빙상계의 주목을 받아온 유망주로, 지난 4월 열린 2025년 쇼트트랙 국가대표 선발전에서 남자 1,500m 종목 두 차례 1위를 포함해 종합 1위를 차지하는 이변을 연출했다.
