[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시가 18일 오전 롯데호텔 부산에서 제106회 전국체육대회와 제45회 전국장애인체육대회의 성과를 되짚고 참가자들에게 감사의 뜻을 전하는 성과보고회를 열었다.
부산은 이번 전국체전에서 52년 만에 종합 2위를, 장애인체전에서 종합 3위를 차지하며 ‘스포츠 도시’로서 존재감을 확인했다.
성과보고회에는 박형준 부산시장과 안성민 시의회 의장, 김석준 교육감 등 주요 인사와 선수단, 체육회 관계자, 자원봉사자, 서포터스 등 300여 명이 참석했다. 시는 대회 성공을 이끈 주역들과 함께 주요 기록을 돌아보고 숨은 이야기를 나누는 자리로 보고회를 꾸몄다.
행사에서는 체전 유공자 감사장 전달, 종합 성과보고, 대회 기간 촬영한 사진·영상 상영, 공식 마스코트 ‘부기’와 함께하는 체전 영웅 인터뷰 등이 이어졌다. 개회식 성화봉송 주자와 ‘부산고의 오타니’로 불리는 선수, 자원봉사자와 서포터스 등 7명의 인터뷰가 공개돼 박수갈채를 받았다.
52년 만의 종합 2위
부산은 제106회 전국체육대회에서 금·은·동메달을 고르게 수확하며 1973년 이후 52년 만에 종합 2위에 올랐다. 제45회 전국장애인체육대회에서도 종합 3위를 기록해 선수단의 땀과 도전이 빛났다는 평가를 받았다.
시는 이번 성적이 개최 도시의 이점만이 아닌, 선수단·지도자·체육회가 함께 쌓아 온 저력의 결과라고 강조했다. 현장에서는 “부산이 하나 되어 만들어낸 결과”라는 소감이 이어졌고, 선수단과 시민 응원 열기에 대한 감사 인사가 줄을 이었다.
경제효과와 시민 참여
두 대회를 위해 전국에서 4만122명의 선수와 관계자가 부산을 찾았고, 관람객은 12만 4,378명에 달했다. 이 기간 주요 호텔 객실 평균 예약률은 90% 이상을 기록했으며, 경기장 인근 상권 음식점 매출은 30~40퍼센트가량 늘어난 것으로 집계됐다.

시는 스포츠 이벤트가 단순한 경기뿐 아니라 지역경제 활성화와 시민 화합에도 기여했다며 “내실 있는 대회였다”는 평가를 내놨다. 자원봉사자와 서포터스의 활약도 큰 힘이 됐다는 설명이다.
부산시는 체전 기간의 열기와 감동을 더 많은 시민과 나누기 위해 서면지하상가(12월 21일까지)와 부산시설공단(BISCO) 갤러리(2026년 1월 31일까지)에서 사진·영상 전시를 진행하고 있다. 경기장 안팎에서 땀 흘린 선수와 자원봉사자의 모습, 시민 응원 장면 등이 전시에 담겼다.
박형준 시장은 “이번 전국체전과 장애인체전은 부산이 하나 돼 만들어낸 위대한 결과물”이라며 “역시 부산이 하면 다르다는 것을 전국에 알렸다. 오늘의 성과를 바탕으로 더 밝은 내일을 준비하겠다”고 말했다.

The city organized the meeting as an opportunity to review key records and share behind-the-scenes stories with those who led the successful hosting of the events.
The program included the presentation of certificates of appreciation to meritorious contributors, a comprehensive performance report, screenings of photos and videos taken during the competitions, and interviews with “sports heroes” alongside the official mascot, *Bugi*. Interviews with seven individuals—such as a torchbearer from the opening ceremony, a player dubbed the “Ohtani of Busan High School,” as well as volunteers and supporters—were unveiled to enthusiastic applause.
First Overall Second Place in 52 Years
At the 106th National Sports Festival, Busan earned a balanced haul of gold, silver, and bronze medals, securing second place overall for the first time since 1973. At the 45th National Para Games, the city also achieved third place overall, earning praise for the dedication and determination of its athletes.
The city emphasized that these results were not merely due to the advantages of being the host city, but rather the outcome of the accumulated strength built by athletes, coaches, and the sports association working together. Many at the venue shared sentiments such as, “This was a result created by Busan standing together,” and expressed gratitude for the passion of the athletes and the enthusiastic support from citizens.
Economic Impact and Civic Participation
A total of 40,122 athletes and officials from across the country visited Busan for the two events, while the number of spectators reached 124,378. During this period, major hotels recorded average occupancy rates of over 90 percent, and restaurant sales in commercial areas near competition venues increased by approximately 30 to 40 percent.
The city evaluated the events as “substantive competitions,” noting that sports events contribute not only to athletic competition but also to regional economic revitalization and civic unity. The contributions of volunteers and supporters were also highlighted as a major driving force behind the success.
To share the excitement and emotion of the Games with more citizens, Busan is hosting photo and video exhibitions at the Seomyeon Underground Shopping Center (through December 21) and the Busan Facilities Corporation (BISCO) Gallery (through January 31, 2026). The exhibitions feature scenes of athletes and volunteers giving their all both inside and outside the venues, as well as moments of enthusiastic civic support.
Mayor Park Heong-joon said, “The National Sports Festival and National Para Games were a great achievement created by Busan coming together as one,” adding, “We showed the entire nation that when Busan takes the lead, it’s different. Building on today’s success, we will prepare for an even brighter tomorrow.”
