한국교육학술정보원(원장 정제영)은 지난 19일 대구 동구 안심제1종합사회복지관을 방문해 홀로 계신 어르신들의 급식 지원을 위해 기부금 150만 원과 쌀 250kg을 전달했다. 이번 나눔은 겨울철 추위 속에서 끼니를 해결하는 데 어려움을 겪는 독거 어르신들을 돕기 위해 마련됐다.
전달된 기부금과 쌀은 복지관이 운영하는 어르신 급식 프로그램과 식재료 구입 등에 쓰일 예정이며, 지역 어르신들이 건강하게 겨울을 날 수 있도록 실질적인 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다. 이날 전달식에는 한국교육학술정보원 임직원들이 함께해 그 의미를 더했으며, 일부 직원들은 직접 배식 봉사에도 참여했다.
정제영 원장은 “지역사회와 함께 성장하는 공공기관으로서, 도움이 절실한 시기에 어르신들께 따뜻한 마음을 전하고 싶었다”고 밝혔다. 이어 “앞으로도 사회적 책임을 다하기 위해 다양한 나눔과 상생 활동을 꾸준히 이어가겠다”고 말했다.
안심제1종합사회복지관 관계자는 “임직원들이 단순히 기부에 그치는 것이 아니라 직접 배식 봉사까지 해주셔서 어르신들에게 큰 위로가 됐다”며 “이번 지원이 어르신들께 따뜻한 겨울을 준비하는 데 큰 힘이 될 것”이라고 감사의 뜻을 전했다.
한편, 한국교육학술정보원은 불용 전자제품 회수·재활용 사업을 통해 조성된 사회공헌 기부금 130만 원을 초록우산 어린이재단에 전달할 계획이다. 이 기부금은 아동 교육과 복지 향상을 위한 사업에 사용될 예정이다.
한국교육학술정보원은 앞으로도 지역사회와의 상생을 바탕으로 취약계층 지원, 환경 보호, 교육 복지 확대 등 공공기관으로서 사회적 가치를 실현하는 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 지속적으로 추진해 나갈 방침이다.
